Morgan Wallen hits Blue Jays legend, Jose Bautista's wife with bat during concert walkout.

Country music superstar Morgan Wallen was in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, for two sold-out shows at the Rogers Centre, the home of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Wallen is known for his walkouts before concerts, as he walks to the stage, getting the crowd hyped. He often walks out with someone notable from the city he’s in, and on September 5, he walked out with Blue Jays legend Jose Bautista.

Bautista gave Wallen his bat, who did the iconic bat flip before hitting the stage.

At the time, the video looked like a cool tribute from Wallen to Bautista. However, it didn’t turn out to be, as the bat the singer flipped ended up hitting Bautista’s wife.

Luckily, Bautista’s wife was okay as she filmed the entire thing and even joked about it on her social media.

Bautista’s wife confirmed she was good at the end of the video, which is the most important thing. But, after his concert, Wallen got praised by Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman for rocking a Roy Halladay jersey on stage.

“Mad respect to @MorganWallen for wearing a Roy Halladay jersey for his concert in Rogers Centre! Real recognize real! #GeauxBlueJays,” Gausman wrote.

Wallen is in the midst of his ‘I’m The Problem Tour’ across North America.

Bautista Honored on Blue Jays Level of Excellence

Bautista walking out with Wallen was a nice touch for the Toronto crowd, who is a beloved figure in the city.

The slugger is a franchise legend and was inducted into the Level of Excellence in 2023.

“You embraced me and my family as your own, and I cannot thank you enough for that,” Bautista said during his induction to the fans. “You treated me like an All-Star long before becoming one, and all that mattered was that I was one of your Blue Jays. That will not be forgotten, and I will always be proud Bto represent you.”

Bautista was a key member of the Blue Jays teams that had deep playoff runs in 2015 and 2016.

The Dominican played 10 years with the Blue Jays, and during those 10 years, he hit 288 home runs and had a 38.4 WAR.

Toronto Holding on to AL East Lead

As for the current Blue Jays team, Toronto is atop the AL East with less than a month to go in the season.

The Blue Jays lost the second game of a three-game series to the New York Yankees on Sept. 6 and are now 3 games up on the Bronx Bombers.

Toronto also avoided an injury scare as Bo Bichette limped off the field, but due to the rain delay, he was able to get checked out and return.

“[The training staff] wrapped it pretty good,” manager John Schneider said. “Again, I’m not a big fan of blood, so I let the trainers do their thing. It didn’t look great, but we’re at the point where if you can play, you can play. Bo understands that and everyone understands that. I don’t think it needed stitches or anything, but there was a lot going on.”

The Blue Jays conclude the three-game series against the Yankees on Sept. 7.
