Boston Celtics Announce Jayson Tatum Status For OKC Thunder Game

On Wednesday evening, the Boston Celtics will host the Oklahoma City Thunder at TD Garden.

The Celtics are coming off a 102-92 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves (at home).

Jayson Tatum finished the loss with 16 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals while shooting 6/16 from the field and 2/7 from three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.

For Wednesday’s game with the Thunder, the Celtics have announced their injury report.

Tatum will be available.

Tatum is currently averaging 19.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 38.8% from the field and 29.3% from three-point range in eight games.

He is in his ninth NBA season (out of Duke) all with Boston.

Celtics Ahead Of OKC Clash

The Celtics are the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 47-24 record in 71 games.

They have won six out of their last ten (and are 24-11 in 35 at home).

Following the Thunder, the Celtics will play their next game on Friday when they remain in Boston to host the Atlanta Hawks.

Tatum and the Celtics are coming off a season where they lost to Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

Many believe that Wednesday’s showdown could be a potential 2026 NBA Finals preview.

Oklahoma City This Year

The Thunder are currently the first seed in the Western Conference with a 57-15 record in 72 games.

They are in the middle of a 12-game winning streak (and 28-8 in 36 games away from OKC).

Following the Celtics, the Thunder will play their next game on Friday when they return home to host Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls.

I’d just sit Tatum for this game. We have shown no ability to defeat SA, OKC, Denver, or Minnesota, especially at home. Once again this season, we continue to lose inexplicable home games. It makes no sense at all. Everytime I see we’re playing at home, I get a sense of dread. They really need to sack up at home like we did in the Bird era.
