Warriors Injury Report
Latest Warriors News
Stephen Curry : Likely to play Sunday
Curry (pelvis) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Spurs. Curry returned Friday from a two-game absence due to a left pelvic contusion and registered 23 points, six assists, four rebounds and three steals in a 111-95 win over the Pelicans. He's still not 100 percent healthy, evidenced by his appearance on the injury report, but Curry doesn't appear to be in serious jeopardy of missing Sunday's contest.
Draymond Green : Fills stat sheet Friday
Green chipped in six points (2-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals across 25 minutes before fouling out of Friday's 111-95 victory over the Pelicans. The Warriors cruised to an easy win Friday on the heels of the performances from Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, but the Warriors wouldn't be where they are right now in the standings if it weren't for Green's contributions. His numbers don't jump off the page, but the veteran has been putting up excellent figures across the board, sometimes as a scorer but more often than not as a defender and playmaker. Green has been averaging 9.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.0 blocks per game since the beginning of March.
Jimmy Butler : Posts double-double
Butler logged 18 points (6-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and one steal across 35 minutes during Friday's 111-95 victory over the Pelicans. Stephen Curry led the way for the Warriors on offense in his return from a pelvis injury, but Butler was able to make his presence felt across the board while notching his third double-double of the month. Butler might not be the most efficient scorer, as he's shooting only 44 percent from the floor and 26.3 percent from deep. Still, he's doing enough to remain a valuable fantasy alternative due to his all-around contributions. The veteran forward, acquired from the Heat before the trade deadline, is averaging 17.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game in 13 appearances during March.
Stephen Curry : Scores 23 points in return
Curry (pelvis) produced 23 points (7-21 FG, 5-16 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six assists, four rebounds and three steals across 34 minutes during Friday's 111-95 victory over the Pelicans. Back in action after missing the Warriors' previous three games due to a left pelvic contusion, Curry had a rough shooting performance but didn't operate with any restrictions with his playing time. Assuming the pelvic injury doesn't flare up on him again, Curry will likely handle normal workloads throughout the rest of the regular season, as the 42-31 Warriors find themselves in the midst of a crowded Western Conference playoff picture and likely won't look to rest key players over the next two ks while they hope to avoid the Play-In Tournament.
Stephen Curry : Cleared to play Friday
Curry (pelvis) is available to play against the Pelicans on Friday. Curry suffered a left pelvic contusion against the Raptors on March 20. The injury was severe enough to miss the Warriors' next two games, but he's progressed enough to be given the green light to return Friday. Curry has averaged 26.5 points, 5.9 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals over 31.9 minutes per game since the All-Star break and has connected on 41.1 percent of his three-point attempts over that span.
Stephen Curry : Expected to play Friday
Head coach Steve Kerr said that Curry (pelvis) is expected to play in Friday's game against New Orleans, Danny Emerman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Curry has missed the club's last two outings due to a left pelvic contusion, though he's expected to return to game action Friday. The superstar has made 10 appearances this month, averaging 25.0 points, 6.1 assists, 4.1 three-pointers, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals across 32.8 minutes per contest.
Stephen Curry : Questionable for Friday
Curry (pelvis) has been listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Pelicans after going through a six-minute team scrimmage Thursday, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. Curry continues to deal with a pelvic injury but could return to the floor for the Warriors on Friday in New Orleans after missing three of the last four games. If Curry is ruled out against the Pelicans, Golden State will likely continue to lean on Brandin Podziemski and Buddy Hield in the backcourt.
Gary Payton : Suffers torn ligament in thumb
Payton suffered a torn ligament in his left thumb and "will miss time", ESPN's Shams Charania reports. This is a tough blow for Golden State, as Payton had been logging sizable workloads recently with minutes in the 20s. With Payton out for an indefinite period, there could be more minutes available for players such as Buddy Hield, Moses Moody and Gui Santos.
