Latest Warriors News
Gui Santos : Tallies two swipes in victory
Santos supplied five points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and two steals over 17 minutes during Thursday's 105-98 win over the Rockets. Santos recorded multiple steals for just the third time this season in Thursday's victory. Despite shooting 40.7 percent from behind the arc in 2024-25, Santos is only converting 26.7 percent of his 1.5 three-point attempts per contest over his last 10 outings.
Pat Spencer : Sees increased run in win
Spencer contributed six points (2-7 FG, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist, one block and one steal in 13 minutes during Thursday's 105-98 victory over the Rockets. After logging just five total minutes in Golden State's previous three outings, Spencer was a key bench contributor in Thursday's win. Spencer is averaging 4.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 9.1 minutes across his last 10 appearances.
Kevon Looney : Leads team in rebounding
Looney contributed five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one steal across 16 minutes during Thursday's 105-98 win over the Rockets. Despite coming off the bench, Looney recorded a team-high nine rebounds during Thursday's victory. The 29-year-old big man has settled into a backup center role and is averaging 5.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 17.4 minutes across his last 10 outings.
Moses Moody : Makes impact on defense
Moody ended Thursday's 105-98 win over the Rockets with 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals across 34 minutes. The fourth-year forward has started two of the last three games, alternating starts with Quinten Post as coach Steve Kerr plays matchups around Golden State's new dynamic duo of Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler. Moody has been productive in a secondary role in those contests, averaging 12.3 points, 4.7 boards, 1.7 steals, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 threes in 31.3 minutes a contest, but it's not clear what his workload might look like once Jonathan Kuminga (ankle) is ready to get back on the court.
Stephen Curry : Leading scorer in Houston
Curry totaled a game-high 27 points (7-17 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 8-9 FT), five rebounds and three assists over 35 minutes during Thursday's 105-98 victory over the Rockets. The two-time MVP heads into the All-Star break with a big head of steam. Curry has scored 24 or more points in seven straight games, averaging 31.0 points, 5.3 assists, 5.3 threes and 4.3 boards over that stretch, and the surge has kept him at the top of the NBA leaderboard from long distance -- his 4.4 three-pointers per game paces the Association, ahead of Anthony Edwards (4.2) and LaMelo Ball (4.0).
Brandin Podziemski : Likely to remain a starter
Podziemski will likely remain in the starting lineup for the Warriors moving forward, head coach Steve Kerr said Thursday, Danny Emerman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Podziemski has made enough of an impression on Kerr that Buddy Hield may be forced to have a bench role for the Warriors for the rest of the season. The 21-year-old guard finished with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists, four steals and a block, capping an impressive all-around performance in Thursday's win against the Rockets.
Gary Payton : Ruled out Thursday
Payton (right peroneal contusion) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Rockets, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports. After a 14-point performance in Wednesday's loss to the Mavericks, Payton will miss Thursday's game with a right peroneal contusion. The veteran guard's production on both ends of the floor will be missed against Houston, with Brandin Podziemski shouldering the load in the backcourt as a starter alongside Stephen Curry with Buddy Hield set to come off the bench.
Quinten Post : Sliding to second unit Thursday
Post will come off the bench in Thursday's game against the Rockets, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. Moses Moody will step into the starting five for Post against Houston. The big man had started in seven of the club's last eight outings, averaging 8.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 three-pointers across 16.3 minutes per contest. Post should compete with Kevon Looney for playing time behind Draymond Green at center Thursday.
