Despite having a 36-41 record, the Golden State Warriors are going to have a shot to find their way into the playoffs this season. With the team essentially locked into the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference, the Warriors are set for a clash with either the Portland Trail Blazers or Los Angeles Clippers in the No. 9-No. 10 seed game in the Play-In Tournament.
It’s not a stretch to suggest that the Warriors’ hopes of finding their way into the postseason, and then going on a deep run, rest solely on Stephen Curry‘s shoulders. What makes that so concerning is that Curry hasn’t played since late January thanks to a lingering knee injury. However, he’s expected to make his return to action against the Houston Rockets on Sunday, and he’s taken a big step towards achieving that goal.
Warriors List Stephen Curry as Questionable for Rockets Contest
Curry’s 17th season in the NBA, all of which have been spent with the Warriors, hasn’t exactly gone according to plan. The hope was that the Dubs would be able to make some noise in the West with him and Jimmy Butler leading the way, but Butler tore his ACL midway through January, and Curry has suited up for only 39 games.
When Curry has played for Golden State, he’s remained one of the best players in the league. During his time on the floor this season, Curry is averaging 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 46.8% from the field. During his months-long absence, though, the Warriors have struggled to find any sort of consistent offensive production.
With Golden State struggling to generate any sort of momentum before the Play-In Tournament, all eyes have been on Curry to see if he can get himself back in action. Reports indicate that he is going to suit up against the Houston Rockets on Sunday, and he took a big step in the right direction, as the team has officially listed him as questionable for this game.
“Steph Curry is officially QUESTIONABLE for tomorrow’s game against the Rockets,” Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints reported in a post on X.

The chances of the Warriors going on a title run, even with Curry back on the floor, are virtually nonexistent, thanks in large part to the lack of depth across the roster. However, if he can return and help the team find its way into the playoffs, that could give the team something to build off of heading into what figures to be a wildly important offseason.
Given how much time he has missed, expectations should be tempered for Curry. And yet, he’s a guy who can single-handedly win his team games, which could be just what Golden State needs as it attempts to sneak its way into the postseason. It will be worth checking in on Curry’s final status for the game before tip-off tomorrow, but it appears as if he will be on the court alongside his teammates once the action gets underway.
