Going into Game 4, the Houston Rockets have officially announced the initial injury report status of Kevin Durant against the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to the injury report on Saturday, April 25, Durant is listed as questionable to play. Durant’s lone designation on the report is a left ankle sprain. He also dealt with a knee contusion, which was the cause behind his Game 1 absence.

Out of three games, Durant has only been available for one.

The star forward went into Game 2 with the intention of playing without a restriction on his playing time. The Rockets rolled out Durant for 41 minutes. The former MVP shot 7-12 from the field and went 8-9 from the charity stripe to score 23 points.

In addition to his scoring, Durant came down with six rebounds and dished out four assists, while coming up with one steal and one block.

Just before the Rockets officially submitted their first injury report, Houston head coach Ime Udoka addressed the Durant situation.

“Getting treatment still around the clock. I think there’s some soreness. [Durant] pushed a lot of swelling out, but it will be a matter of if he can go,” Udoka told reporters, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Michael Shapiro.

“He’ll try it out, I’m sure, tomorrow morning and before the game. We don’t know his status yet. Every day that goes by the likelihood goes up. I thought he might be ok yesterday based on shootaround, but it’s different going half-speed and ramping it up right before the game, so we can’t tell, but he’s doing everything he can to get back.”

The chances of Durant entering Game 4 as a game-time decision are high. His final status will likely depend on how he feels after going through a pregame workout routine.

Considering the circumstances, Durant has more pressure to get back as quickly as possible. The Rockets are one loss away from getting bounced in round one. They could become the first team eliminated in 2026.
