The Milwaukee Bucks were one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA this season. They were expecting to make the playoffs and still have a shot to compete for a title. Adding Myles Turner was supposed to give Giannis Antetokounmpo a shooter to pair with.

Turner came over to Milwaukee after playing the first decade of his career with the Indiana Pacers. His first season did not go well. He had the worst shooting and rebounding season of his career. He only averaged 11.4 points per game, which is the second-lowest total of his career.

A massive ESPN article from Shams Charania recently came out, detailing the Bucks’ season. Turner has now confirmed the accuracy of that article.

While speaking on the Game Recognize Game Podcast with Stewie and Myles, Turner told Brianna Stewart that the article was pretty accurate.

“Listen, man, I don’t know who Sham’s source was. I’ll come out right now. I was not the snitch. I was not the mole. I don’t know who was, but a lot of stuff in that ESPN article that came out, it was very accurate. Someone had to have had a tape recording at this point, because a lot of stuff that was said was like, to a T.”

Charania has been fighting with Bucks fans for most of the season over his reporting on Antetokounmpo. Turner confirmed that Charania was accurate with this report, so he must have some good sources within that organization. His reporting is usually accurate.

The Bucks failed to turn things around. This season, they finished with the seventh-worst offense in the league. That is why they ultimately failed to make the playoffs. Next season could have them making a lot of changes.

Milwaukee May Have Made a Mistake Bringing in Myles Turner

Last summer, Turner signed a massive four-year, $108.9 million deal. In order to create the cap space to sign Turner, the Milwaukee Bucks had to use the waive-and-stretch provision on Damian Lillard. They will pay Lillard $22.5 million over the next five years for him not to play on the team.

That cap hit will make it harder for them to build a competitive team next season. That is especially true if the team ends up trading Antetokounmpo to jumpstart a rebuild. Turner would then be stuck in a more elevated role, which would be too much for him.

If the Bucks trade Antetokounmpo, Turner becomes the highest-paid player on the roster. He would be extremely overpaid to fill that role. Of course, Milwaukee could make other moves to bring in a younger star to pair with Turner moving forward.

After just one season, the deal to bring Turner in looks like a massive mistake. Now, the Bucks have to find a way to make it work.
