Williamson has had a lot of injuries over the first half of his NBA career.

Therefore, anytime he leaves a game a lot of fans and media take notice.

Will Guillory of The Athletic added: “Tonight was Zion’s 35th consecutive game in the lineup, the longest streak of healthy games he’s had in his career. The Pels play tomorrow in LA against the Clippers. His streak could be at risk.”

Williamson came into play with averages of 21.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 58.5% from the field and 25.0% from three-point range in 44 games.

He is in his seventh NBA season (all with the Pelicans).

That said, Williamson had yet to appear in an NBA playoff game.

The Lead wrote (last month): “Most seasons averaging 22+ PPG on 58% FG: 4 – Zion Williamson 4 – Nikola Jokic 4 – Shaq 3 – Giannis 3 – Charles Barkley 2 – Kevin McHale 2 – Kareem 2 – Wilt”

The Pelicans are the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 19-42 record in 61 games.

Despite their struggles, they are in the middle of a four-game winning streak.

Following the Jazz, the Pelicans will play their next game on Sunday when they visit the LA Clippers in California.
