Brandon Ingram: Breaking News

Ingram underwent successful surgery Friday to address ongoing heel pain, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. A heel spur was removed during the surgery, and Ingram is expected to fully recover and be ready for training camp in September. This heel injury prevented Ingram from playing in the final two games of Toronto's playoff series against the Cavaliers, but by addressing it early in the offseason, his status for 2026-27 won't be in any doubt.

Ingram (heel) is listed as out for Sunday's Game 7 of the Eastern Conference first-round series against Cleveland, Esfandiar Baraheni of The Athletic reports. Ingram was recently spotted in a walking boot, so his lack of availability for Sunday's elimination game isn't surprising. His return timeline remains murky, meaning he isn't a lock to return for the Eastern Conference Semifinals, assuming Toronto manages to advance. While Ingram is off the floor, Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett are anticipated to continue doing most of the heavy lifting offensively, with Jamal Shead in line to remain in the starting lineup.

It looks like Ingram will miss the final two games of the series due to a right heel injury that cropped up in Game 5. Jamal Shead should stay in Toronto's starting lineup for Game 7, and the Raptors will need more scoring from other role players like Ja'Kobe Walter, Jamison Battle and A.J. Lawson in Ingram's absence.
