New York Knicks Make Jalen Brunson Announcement Before Hornets Game

On Sunday, the New York Knicks will host the Charlotte Hornets at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks are coming off a 112-95 win over the Toronto Raptors.

Jalen Brunson finished with 29 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals while shooting 12/18 from the field and 2/5 from three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.

For Sunday’s game, the Knicks have announced that they have ruled out Brunson.

Tommy Beer of Knicks Centric wrote: “The Knicks, as expected, have ruled out OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson for Sunday’s game vs. Charlotte.”

Brunson finished the 2026 regular season with averages of 26.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per contest while shooting 46.7% from the field and 36.9% from three-point range in 74 games.

He is in his fourth year playing for New York.

Real App wrote (on March 29): “Jalen Brunson is the fastest player in Knicks history to reach 100 career 30-point games.”

The Knicks are the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 53-28 record in 81 games.

They are in the middle of a five-game winning streak (and have won seven out of their last ten).

Knicks PR wrote (on February 4): “Jalen Brunson registered his ninth game as a Knick recording 40+ points, five or more assists and five or more rebounds, surpassing Richie Guerin for the most in franchise history.”

The Knicks reached the Eastern Conference last season for the first time in 25 years.

After moving on from Tom Thibodeau, the team hired Mike Brown to help lead them back to the NBA Finals.

Hornets Ahead Of Knicks

The Hornets come into the day as the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 43-38 record in 81 games.

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak (but have won six out of ten).

The franchise is attempting to return to the NBA Finals for the first time since the 2016 season (ten years ago).
