A DeMar DeRozan reunion? The Toronto Raptors have received an answer. It’s a no.
On Friday, DeRozan, the 37-year-old six-time NBA All-Star, agreed to sign a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the Denver Nuggets, according to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.
Reported Charania on X, formerly Twitter: “BREAKING: Six-time NBA All-Star DeMar DeRozan has agreed to sign with the Denver Nuggets on a one-year, $3.9 million deal, sources tell ESPN.”

After DeRozan was waived by the Sacramento Kings in July, speculation linked the former All-Star to the Raptors, the franchise that took him with its top pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.
DeRozan was traded from the Raptors to the San Antonio Spurs in a 2018 blockbuster trade that brought Kawhi Leonard to Toronto. Had it not been for the Raptors’ decision to trade DeRozan, there was a chance he would have still been with the franchise today.
After spending two seasons with the Kings, DeRozan now heads to the Nuggets, who are trying to stay in the mix with the top Western Conference teams after dealing star forward Peyton Watson in a seismic sign-and-trade.
It is unclear what role DeRozan will be assigned in Denver, but the Nuggets are getting an elite scorer around the Big Three of Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon.
