The Baltimore Ravens have hit the ground running to start the 2025 NFL season, with Lamar Jackson and company having arguably the best offense in the league, scoring 81 points over the course of the first two games.

Even though the Ravens lost a shootout with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in dramatic fashion in the season opener, Baltimore showed its ability to light up the scoreboard was no fluke, torching the Cleveland Browns a week later, 41-17.

Superstar running back Derrick Henry has played his part in the offensive onslaught to begin the 2025 campaign, racking up 192 rushing yards and two touchdowns in two games. Along with Henry, veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has also gotten in on the fun with two touchdowns of his own to go along with 99 receiving yards.

DeAndre Hopkins Having Career Resurgence with Ravens

Although there’s still a long way to go during the 2025 NFL season, Hopkins’s early contributions are a promising sign for the Ravens‘ passing game. Jackson will have another go-to target downfield, with the 33-year-old wideout holding off Father Time for a little bit longer.

Henry, who also played alongside Hopkins with the Tennessee Titans, was asked about people calling his teammate “washed” during a scrum in the locker room this week.

“Nah, I think he’s done it his whole career,” Henry said during press availability in the locker room on Friday. “Everybody knows that stigma. You get up in age, and all of a sudden, something has changed, but hopefully, they keep calling him washed because it’s been working. We need it.”

Jackson has also been impressed with what he’s seen from the veteran wide receiver through the first two games of the season.

“But he’s showing otherwise,” Jackson said via Jamison Hensley of ESPN. “The guy has huge hands to catch the ball — one hand, two fingers — it doesn’t really matter.”

Ravens’ Offense Can’t be Stopped

Heading into Week 3 against the Detroit Lions, which will be another tough challenge for Jim Harbaugh’s squad, the Ravens are fifth in the NFL in rushing yards per game at 141.5. Henry hasn’t missed a beat from his first season in Baltimore and will likely continue to put the pressure on opposing defenses moving forward.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the Ravens can keep up this pace offensively, as it would easily put them in the running for the best teams in the AFC, if not the entire NFL. Baltimore has to stay healthy while feeding Henry and becoming prolific in the passing game, with Zay Flowers and Hopkins making an impact on a weekly basis.

Obviously, scoring 40 points a week is likely unsustainable. Still, the fact that this team is clicking offensively this early is a good sign that Baltimore is the real deal once again, with a chance to be a legitimate Super Bowl title contender in the AFC.
