The Ravens recently made headlines for being projected to have the best starting lineup in the league in 2025. While their talent is spread throughout, there is one veteran who stands out above the rest: Derrick Henry. After coming up just short of becoming the first player to ever run for 2,000 yards in multiple seasons, Henry earned a spot near the top of Jeff Kerr’s list of the top 30 players age 30 or older on Monday. But, there were two notable Ravens who didn’t make the list.
A Pair of Ravens Pro Bowlers Snubbed
While Henry is the most obvious choice for the Ravens, there are several players who were deserving of consideration. Kerr listed fullback Patrick Ricard as an honorable mention. But, he left Kyle Van Noy and Ronnie Stanley off the list, despite both earning their first Pro Bowl selections last season.
On the offensive side of the ball, Ronnie Stanley enjoyed quite a resurgence in 2024. After earning his first Pro Bowl nod in 2020, the Ravens veteran suffered through several injury-plagued seasons.
The nine-year pro played just 31 games between 2020 and 2023. But, in 2025, he re-emerged as one of the best blindside protectors in the league, allowing just two sacks across nearly 600 pass blocking snaps.
Despite committing a concerning number of penalties (13 – 131st out of 140 tackles, according to PFF), the Ravens tackle held down the left side of the line. After the departure of Patrick Mekari in free agency, it will be more important than ever for Stanley to protect Lamar’s blindside.
On defense, Kyle Van Noy stepped into a starting role at 33 years old and racked up a career-high 12.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss. After injuries to Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo, the Ravens signed him as a free agent in late September 2023.
Van Noy played well in a limited starting role, racking up a career-high 9 sacks across 14 games. That earned him a 2-year, $9 million deal last offseason. The Ravens’ faith in him paid off, as Van Noy served as a veteran presence alongside Roquan Smith and the rest of their linebacking corps.
While Kerr may have snubbed Stanley and Van Noy, the Ravens still boast the league’s best roster. If they can maintain their level of production, Baltimore will be in for another Super Bowl-or-bust season.
Henry Earns No. 3 Spot, Just Behind a Pair of 5-Time All-Pros
After a dominant five-year stretch in Tennessee, Henry decided to team up with Lamar Jackson in Baltimore. The ninth-year back exploded onto the scene during his first season in Baltimore last year. The Ravens star finished just shy of his second 2,000-yard season (1,921). He also tied for the league lead with 16 scores on the ground, and added two through the air.
Those numbers would usually earn you a first-team All-Pro nod, and even some MVP consideration. That’s especially true, considering that no one had come within 200 yards of Henry’s 2,027-yard performance in 2020. Unfortunately, Eagles star Saquon Barkley stole the spotlight last year. Barkley ran for 2,005 yards on the way to a Super Bowl.
But, the Ravens star’s appearance on this list separates him from Barkley in terms of longevity. “Henry had the best season for any running back over 30 years old,” Kerr wrote.
“With the most rushing yards (11,423) and rushing touchdowns (106) since the start of the 2016 season by a wide margin, there’s a good argument to be made that Henry is still the best running back in the NFL,” Kerr wrote. “He’s on a Pro Football Hall of Fame trajectory.”
