The Buffalo Bills are so close to starting their 2025-26 season, and it’s a thrilling time for the franchise, because there’s a lot of positive energy behind the team. The Bills, of course, has a strong team spearheaded by MVP-winning quarterback Josh Allen, so this could be the year that they finally go all the way.
Pretty much everyone in the NFL recognizes that the Buffalo Bills have a unique and special talent in Allen. He won MVP because of his pristine stats, but it’s not just about who he is on the field. Allen is a great guy off the field, too, and is respected by his teammates, and that goes a long way.
With all the praise that Allen gets on a regular basis, one might think that he’s got a big head, but one would be wrong. He’s still a humble and down-to-earth person, and that’s something else that his team probably appreciates. Now, Allen is talking about the upcoming season, and he has some strong words to share.
Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen Talks New Season
The Bills will open their season on Sunday, September 7, against the Baltimore Ravens. Ahead of the game, Allen opened up about the new season with SI’s Albert Breer. Allen was super humble in his comments and said that he’s still learning and improving, even after being crowned the NFL’s Most Valuable Player.
“There are still so many things I can grow from, mainly with my eyes and my feet,” Allen said in the chat. “I’m still working mechanically and trying to be as sound as possible.”
He added, “But, looking back at the tape last year, there were four or five touchdowns that I missed, which would have been walk-ins. They could have helped us and put us in a better situation.”
Allen also talked about how he feels going into the new season. The good news is that he says he feels the best he ever has at this point in the season.
“I think about it a lot; eventually my game will have to evolve,” he said in the chat. “And I think last year was a step in the right direction, where I didn’t take too many hits. I’m not saying I didn’t take any. But during this offseason? This is the best I’ve felt after any season because I didn’t take hits.”
Josh Allen Named One of the Best Quarterbacks
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reached out to coaches, executives and scouts to name their top quarterbacks in the league going into the 2025-26 season. Allen was named the No. 2 best quarterback in the league in the report. Last year, he was ranked No. 3, so it’s a step up. The only quarterback ahead of Allen is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“Allen’s standing in our top 10 series has been a journey — and a point of contention in Buffalo,” Fowler states in the feature. “Since the series started in 2020 until 2023, Allen’s place in the quarterback pantheon was universally celebrated among voters inside the league and highlighted in this piece annually. He became, unquestionably, a top-shelf quarterback in the league.”
It’s fantastic to see Allen get this kind of recognition. Next season, hopefully he’ll be No. 1.
