Quarterback Josh Allen put on his Superman cape during the Buffalo Bills‘ 27-24 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the playoffs and made NFL history in the process.
According to OptaSTATS, Allen became the first player in NFL history to complete at least 80% of his passes (min. 5 attempts) and rush for multiple touchdowns in a playoff game.
Allen completed 28 of his 35 pass attempts for 273 yards and one touchdown. He rushed 11 times for 33 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning plunge from a yard out.
The former Wyoming quarterback tallied his 15th rushing touchdown of the season in the second quarter when he capped off a 10-play, 92-yard drive. After Allen pushed the Bills into the red zone with a 36-yard pass to wide receiver Keon Coleman, running back James Cook scampered six yards to put the Bills on the doorstep.
Allen ran off the right edge and picked up key blocks from tight end Jackson Hawes and right tackle Spencer Brown for the score.
Josh Allen’s Only Passing Touchdown vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen rushed for his 15th and 16th touchdowns of the season in the Bills’ 27-24 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Allen completed passes to nine different receivers and found wide receiver Khalil Shakir for a team-high 12 receptions and 82 yards.
“That’s Khalil Shakir,” Allen said during his post-game press conference. “To have that reliability. To have that safety valve, if you will. He’s tough as nails and continues to do his job. He finds himself in big spots and makes the plays for us.”
Wide receiver Brandin Cooks and tight ends Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid each caught three passes apiece. Cooks netted 58 yards, including a 36-yard pass in the fourth quarter that set up Buffalo’s go-ahead score.
Kincaid caught Allen’s lone touchdown pass of the game in the fourth quarter. The Utah product lined up and faked a block off the left side of the line of scrimmage before working toward the left sideline. Allen hit him in stride at the six-yard line, and Kincaid did the rest for his sixth touchdown of the season.
Allen Says ‘We’re Good’
Allen entered the medical tent on the sideline multiple times throughout the game. He was evaluated for a concussion in the first quarter. He entered the tent again after smacking his finger on one of his offensive linemen’s helmet as well.
The 2024 NFL MVP entered once more after getting “rolled up on” near the goal line in the fourth quarter. Despite some concern, Allen said he was fine after the game, but sported a noticeable limp in the locker room, according to The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia.
“Just got rolled up a little bit,” Allen said. “Sometimes those get a little funky when you’ve got a lot of big dudes at your feet. So, yeah, we’re good.”
Allen was on the injury report leading into the game with a “foot” designation, but was a full participant in all three of the Bills’ practices. He seemed limited throughout the game, but has played through injuries throughout his career.
