The Buffalo Bills finished up Day 6 of training camp at St. John Fisher University on Tuesday, July 29.
Fans will get a closer look at Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Co. this offseason, as their training camp is being featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks.” The docuseries will premiere on August 5. While the extra cameras can be a distraction, Allen is focused on building chemistry with his pool of receivers.
Once again, the Bills are moving forward with a committee approach on offense. Allen’s pool of top wide receivers includes Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Elijah Moore, and Joshua Palmer.
However, injuries are already piling up at training camp. Bills head coach Sean McDermott told reporters on Monday, “It’s not ideal, especially with the names that are on there,” but it’s time for other guys to “step in and do the job.”
With the “everybody eats” mentality in full effect, and a testament to the MVP’s talent, Allen’s huge highlight on Tuesday, July 29 was a 50-yard touchdown pass to Stephen Gosnell, an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech.
No one doubts Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but a Super Championship eludes the league’s reigning MVP. It would be a storybook ending for the Bills to win their their first-ever Lombardi Trophy during their final season at the old Highmark Stadium. However, Allen and the Bills likely need to find a way to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs to reach that goal.
Josh Allen Knows What The Bills Need to Do To Reach The Super Bowl, And That’s Defeat Patrick Mahomes
Last season, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs reached their third straight Super Bowl after defeating Buffalo 32-29 in the AFC Championship game. Overall, Mahomes and Co. have sent Allen and the Bills packing in the postseason four times in the past six years.
So, what can Allen do to finally defeat the Chiefs in the playoffs?

“You got to make sure that you’re doing everything right on your side of the football and not giving him short fields and turnovers,” Allen told ESports Insider’s DJ Siddiqi last week.
“Getting over that hump, it’s been the question. I hear it all the time. I’m getting a little tired of it. But the way to stop getting that question asked is to go out there and do it.”
However, it’s one game at a time. Allen’s focus is winning each week and getting back to the playoffs first. “One won’t get asked this question if we’re not in that position,” he added. “Just got to keep working hard and make the plays when we need to make them.”
Josh Allen Has Nothing But Respect for Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

Allen doesn’t shy away from listing all the reasons Mahomes is an elite quarterback. “He can extend plays with the best of them,” Allen said. “He’s got an absolute cannon for an arm. He sees things happen before they happen. Super smart. He works extremely hard, you know? And he’s won three of them, so we can’t argue with the results.”
The 29-year-old quarterback also likes the two-time league MVP as a person. “I’ve played golf with him myself. He’s a great guy,” Allen continued. “I think guys love being around him in their locker room. That’s a trait that I think most quarterbacks need to have in order to be successful in this league.”
