The Colts could trade Anthony Richardson during the draft

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson asked for a trade ahead of the 2026 free agency, with Indy agreeing to look for a partner. While there have been some teams interested, the Green Bay Packers, the QB remains a member of the Colts organization for now.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter dropped his latest intel ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, naming Richardson as a player who could likely be traded during the draft.

“Though [Philadelphia Eagles‘AJ] Brown and [Minnesota Vikings‘ Jonathan] Greenard are two of the biggest trade candidates… There are plenty more who could be dealt during the upcoming draft,” Schefter wrote. “Those who could gain interest include Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr.”

The former fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft asked for a trade after being benched for the third time in his career. In his latest season, Richardson lost a training camp battle with Daniel Jones — who signed a two-year extension with the team, highlighting that Jones will be the Colts’ long-term option at quarterback.

One anonymous NFL executive believes the Colts could receive at most a fifth-round or sixth-round pick in exchange for Richardson.

While the team is still looking for a trade partner for Anthony Richardson, Colts general manager Chris Ballard didn’t shut down the idea of retaining the quarterback for the 2026 season.

Colts Pro Bowler Likely to Be Traded

Anthony Richardson isn’t the only member of the Indianapolis Colts likely to be traded during the 2026 NFL Draft, with Adam Schefter naming a Pro Bowl defender as another option.

Schefter revealed that cornerback Kenny Moore, who also asked to be traded, is the other player on the Indianapolis roster likely to be dealt at the draft.

Moore has been with Indy since the 2017 season, a Pro Bowler in the 2021 season, is entering the final year of his contract.

The cornerback has been one of the most consistent members of the defense, playing 11 or more games since joining the team.

With Kenny Moore appearing likely to be traded during the draft, the Colts could use the draft picks they received(if dealing the corner) to help address the nickelback position Moore held.

With both Anthony Richardson and Kenny Moore asking for a trade, neither player is at the team’s voluntary organized team activities (OTAs), according to GM Chris Ballard.

The 2026 NFL Draft is just a few days away now, leading the trade talks to pick up ahead of the event.

Ballard mentioned the concern around the eye injury Richardson suffered in the 2025 season has played a part in the team not dealing with the quarterback yet. The GM also revealed that Richardson is recovering, but has been cleared for activity and is “doing everything.”

Nothing was mentioned of Kenny Moore, but when the news broke of the defender wanting a trade from the organization, the Pro Bowl corner shared a short but heartfelt message to the city of Indianapolis to ESPN’s Stephen Holder: “It’s all good. It’s all love.”

The draft begins Thursday, with both Anthony Richardson and Kenny Moore likely spending their list days as members of the Indianapolis Colts.
