Following the Kansas City Chiefs‘ frustrating 27-21 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil, the team looks to bounce back against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.
Fox dubbed the highly anticipated rematch of Super Bowl LIX the “Game of the Week” and gave it the primetime afternoon slot. However, fans trying to tune in for the game on Sunday, September 14 could only watch the New York Giants taking on the Dallas Cowboys, a game that went deep into overtime.
Even if you had the NFL Sunday Ticket, fans couldn’t get to the Eagles-Chiefs game on TV. The AP’s Scott Dubow posted, “Pretty bad that @YouTube TV charges so much for Sunday Ticket and I can’t see start of Chiefs-Eagles game.”
Team YouTube actually responded and wrote, “We understand how important this is. We made the 4:25 PM game temporarily available on NFLST until it started airing locally.” However, most fans still couldn’t watch the game.
Dubrow responded, “It tells I can’t see it because the game is on my local station but the game isn’t on my local station. I have Giants-Cowboys on 2 channels and no Chiefs-Eagles even though I pay for Sunday Ticket.”
The North Substack’s Seth Keysor shared the same complaint. So I pay for Sunday ticket and YouTube TV and I can’t get the Chiefs game on Sunday ticket because it’s airing locally but the local channel is showing Giants cowboys…
One fan posted, “@NFLonFOX is the WORST. You can’t call it your ‘game of the week’ and then not show it because you are showing ‘bonus coverage’ from a game that’s not even in the local network.. Absolutely TERRIBLE.”
Fox Didn’t Start Showing The Chiefs-Eagles Game Until The First Quarter Was Almost Over

GettyEagles quarterback Jalen Hurts during the first quarter of the game against the Chiefs on September 14, 2025.
While the Cowboys-Giants game ended in a thriller, with Dallas eking out a 40-37 overtime win, there should’ve been a way for fans to watch Fox’s national game. Chiefs and Eagles fans were angry about the massive delay and let the network know it on social media.
One man posted on X, “Why the [expletive] is @NFLonFOX playing the ‘bonus coverage’ overtime of this [expletive] giants game when the Chiefs game is featured?????????
One woman wrote, “Insane that we still can’t watch Chiefs Eagles even though we pay for #sundayticket. @fox split screen these games!!
By the time Fox turned on the Eagles-Chiefs game, there were about 2 minutes and 32 seconds left in the first quarter. A minute later, the Eagles running back Saquon Barkley put up the first points of the game, giving Philadelphia a 7-0 lead.
Fox Shared An Exclusive Interview With Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Ahead of Kickoff
Fox certainly did their job of hyping up the Super Bowl rematch. Hours before kickoff, Fox on Sunday shared Erin Andrews’ exclusive interview with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Kelce spoke about his engagement to Taylor Swift, “It has been an exciting ride up to this day, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her,” and returning for his 13th season.
“I love what I do,” he told Andrews. “I’m still a kid on Sundays that enjoys every single aspect of the game, and I built a family here. I don’t want to give that up yet. I still feel like I got a lot to prove.”
