Shortly after their 40-32 road win at Arrowhead Stadium over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon, the Las Vegas Raiders made a small detour before heading to the airport.
According to Kansas City 41 Action News sports producer Nick Jacobs, the Raiders reportedly requested their police escort to allow the team’s buses to take a “victory lap” around the emptied-out stadium.

Jacobs later doubled down on his original report, citing that his source “is 100% accurate” on the postgame events involving Las Vegas’ buses.
The Raiders organization has not put out any formal statement on the matter at the time of writing.
Kansas City’s Half Decade of Dominance
The impressive Week 5 performance marked the Raiders’ first victory over the Chiefs since a 31-19 Thursday night win in Oakland on October 19, 2017. However, it was only Las Vegas’ second win against Kansas City in the last 12 matchups between the clubs dating back to 2014.
In the five seasons following, the Chiefs have played to a 57-23 regular season record, earning five consecutive playoff appearances, four AFC West division titles, an AFC Championship Game appearance and last season’s Super Bowl LIV title — a mountain of accomplishments up against the Raiders’ 36-44 record and Wild Card round loss in 2016.
The AFC West rivals will next meet up on Sunday Night Football in Week 11 on November 22, the week immediately following Kansas City’s scheduled bye week.
Patrick Mahomes Critical of Reliance on ‘Crazy Plays’
Despite 340 passing yards, a pair of touchdowns and only three sacks taken on Sunday, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes frequently found himself under duress from a physical Las Vegas defensive front. During his postgame press conference, the MVP passer was quick to evaluate his own reliance on “crazy plays” to keep offensive drives alive, notably in third-and-long situations.
You give them total respect. They have great players on their defense, they’re going to go out there and make plays but as far as us offensively, we’ve kind of done it these last few weeks, obviously other than the Ravens game, where we didn’t execute at a high enough level to go out there and score like we’ve been known to score and it caught up with us today. We got to go back and really look at ourselves in the mirror, me at quarterback and really not rely on these crazy plays where I’m scrambling around and throwing these shots and just execute the offense the way that it’s called and the way it’s supposed to be ran. If we do that, we’ll be a hard team to stop.
Overall, the Chiefs were relatively successful on third downs, converting 6-of-14 attempts compared to the Raiders’ 7-of-14 attempts. An overarching correction will need to come in the penalty department though, as the defending Super Bowl champions committed 10 infractions on Sunday, including three offensive holding calls, for a loss of 94 yards.
Kansas City has now been called for double-digit penalties for the second time in the first five games of the 2020 campaign, putting them on pace for 102 infractions over a 16-game season — which is surprisingly almost two dozen fewer than the 124 fouls in 2019.
