Former late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien will host the Oscars for the second time, and the second year in a row, on Sunday.
But the 62-year-old O’Brien also appeared on Kelce’s podcast New Heights on Wednesday, just four days before he will host the Oscars. His appearance led to widespread fan speculation that Kelce, presumably with Swift at his side, would attend the Oscars as a way to thank the 6-foot-4 comedian for his appearance on New Heights — with some rumors even claiming that O’Brien “confirmed” on the podcast that the mega-celebrity couple would, in fact, attend.
That rumor was simply false. But whether Swift and Kelce will be at the Academy Awards ceremony will remain an open question until the show actually starts — and maybe even until later than that.
Swift and Kelce Made a ‘Secret’ Appearance 2 Years Ago
Though Swift and Kelce have never attended an Oscars ceremony together, the power couple reportedly did, in fact, show up at an exclusive after-party following the 2024 Academy Awards.
According to a report by People, Swift and Kelce “jetted back from Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Singapore, (and) landed in Los Angeles just in time to celebrate the 96th annual Academy Awards and step out for an event following the awards ceremony together.”
What was the event? Well, it was a party that could not be more of a Hollywood A-list affair.
“The pair attended Gucci’s 16th annual event known as ‘The Party’ on Sunday night, which was held at talent manager Guy Oseary’s home,” People reported.
Oseary is a celebrity manager and financial adviser whose management company handles such major Hollywood clients as Laura Dern, Eddie Redmayne, Emma Watson, Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts and Dakota Johnson.
The 53-year-old Oseary has achieved his greatest successes in music, personally managing Madonna — who co-hosts the Gucci after-party — and U2.
Will Swift and Kelce Attend the Oscars Tonight?
As speculation runs wild, the confirmed list of celebrity attendees does not include Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. According to Us Weekly, Swift is not among the presenters, a list that includes Nicole Kidman, Jimmy Kimmel, Ewan McGregor, Pedro Pascal, Bill Pullman, Channing Tatum and others. Nor is Swift listed among the musical performers on Sunday night.
The possibility of Swift and Kelce’s unannounced attendance remains open. Fans will just need to watch the ceremony to find out.
