The Las Vegas Raiders are entering a new era, and there’s hope that they could make the Super Bowl in the near future.

And not only could they make the Super Bowl in the next few years, but they could also play in Allegiant Stadium with the home crowd cheering them on.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the city of Las Vegas is expected to host Super Bowl LXIII.

“The site for Super Bowl LXIII is now set to be voted on at next week’s NFL owners meetings, and it is now expected to return to Las Vegas. It’s a ‘matter of formality,’ one source said.”

The last time Allegiant Stadium hosted the Super Bowl was back in 2024 when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime.

The city of Las Vegas has shown that it can handle hosting major events like the Super Bowl, so it’s no wonder that the NFL wants another Super Bowl in LV.

“This stadium is extraordinary and we’re here and we can feel it … and that’s our stage,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said regarding Allegiant Stadium. “For us the stadium is key, the city is key. This city really knows how to put on big events. We’ve seen that.”

Goodell said Allegiant Stadium is the No. 1 place fans see their team in an away game. Some Raiders home games feature more than 60 percent road fans, according to Las Vegas Stadium Authority data from 2024.

Raiders Set to Host Fernando Mendoza on a Top 30 Visit

If the Raiders want to be back in the Super Bowl spotlight, many believe drafting Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza is the key to reaching those heights.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Raiders are set to host Mendoza on a Top 30 visit in two weeks. Mendoza is slated to take part in Indiana’s Pro Day on April 1st after opting out of the drills during the NFL Combine.

These next few weeks will be key for the Raiders as they continue to learn more about Mendoza and make sure they set him up for success from Day 1.

Why should the Raiders draft him with the No. 1 overall pick? Some of the top draft experts weighed in on that exact question.

“I won’t waste a lot of time here: Mendoza to the Raiders seems pretty obvious at this point. The Geno Smith trade didn’t solve the post-Derek Carr quarterback problem in Las Vegas, and new coach Klint Kubiak will want a signal-caller to build his offense around. Mendoza is the No. 1 prospect on my board and far and away the best QB in the class. He is competitive and precise with his ball location,” ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper said.

“Mendoza is a clean operator whose sheer professionalism could lift the floor up for a franchise that’s been in the doldrums for oh so long. Mendoza is accurate, has good size, moves well in the pocket, and constantly finds the right answer from the pocket (he’s already a standout in situations like third down, the red zone and two-minute drives). He’s not an overwhelming athlete, but can create and scramble for yards when things go astray,” Yahoo Sports’ Nate Tice said.

With Mendoza on the roster, along with all the talent the Raiders have brought in over the past few seasons, who knows? Maybe they’ll be one of the two teams making an appearance at Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LXIII.
