NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the New England Patriots signed undrafted WR Kyle Dixon to a $252,500 deal.

The New England Patriots spent $68 million in NFL free agency to sign veteran wide receiver Romeo Doubs. New England’s latest receiver deal didn’t come close to that level, but it was expensive for an undrafted free agent.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the Patriots signed former Culver-Stockton College wideout Kyle Dixon on Saturday night. The deal included $252,000 in guarantees.

It’s still early in undrafted free agency. But according to Spotrac, only one receiver has received more guaranteed money as an undrafted free agent than Dixon.

“Dixon (6-2, 220) posted a 40.5 vertical and 10-11 broad at Mizzou pro day,” wrote Pelissero on X.

In two seasons at Culver-Stockton College, Dixon posted 143 catches, 2,394 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. He registered 1,000-yard campaigns in both 2024 and 2025.

Last season, he had 83 receptions, 1,282 receiving yards and 12 scores.

Patriots Sign WR Kyle Dixon to Big Undrafted Free Agent Contract: Report

The Patriots receiving group is a position in flux this offseason. Doubs will join the team with the expectation of being the WR1.

But after that, there’s little uncertainty. And if anything, there’s more of that now with the amount the Patriots were willing to give Dixon in 2026 NFL undrafted free agency.

Receiver remained a position of need for the Patriots entering the 2026 NFL Draft. But the team didn’t select a wideout with any of its nine picks.

While the Patriots made a big splash with Doubs in free agency, New England also parted with 2025 leading receiver Stefon Diggs.

Kayshon Boutte and Mack Hollins are New England’s top receivers on the depth chart after Doubs. But pundits have suggested in recent weeks Boutte could be a trade candidate this offseason. Additionally, Hollins will turn 33 years old this September.

That makes the addition of Dixon particularly intriguing. Dixon could have a path to earning a role, which would justify the big salary he commanded in free agency.

Of course, the expectation is New England will be acquiring A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles in June. If that trade finally happens, Dixon will face a lot more competition for a roster spot.

New England Adds Multiple Receivers as Undrafted Free Agents

The Patriots didn’t just add quality in undrafted free agency with an expensive receiver. They also had quantity at receiver, signing three other wideouts in addition to Dixon.

SB Nation’s Pats Pulpit’s staff wrote that on top of Dixon, the Patriots also signed James Madison’s Nick DeGennaro, North Texas’s Cameron Dorner and Georgetown’s Jimmy Kibble at receiver.

Kibble was the most productive of the three in college. He posted a 1,000-yard receiving season in 2025 for the Hoyas.

Dorner, though, registered 56 catches with 911 yards and eight touchdowns last season at the FBS level.

DeGennaro has FBS experience from early in his college career. He had 28 receptions, 500 receiving yards and five touchdowns during 2025.

The four undrafted receivers are joining a group in New England that will also include DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams, Efton Chism III, Jeremiah Webb and John Jiles this offseason.

But again, the Patriots could be adding a former All-Pro (A.J. Brown) to the group. If that happens, New England’s receiving group will look a lot different.
