Brian Daboll will return to MetLife Stadium twice in his first three weeks as Titans offensive coordinator.

Fans of the New York Giants won’t have to wait long to “welcome” Brian Daboll back to MetLife Stadium.

The Giants will host Daboll and the Tennessee Titans for a Week 3 Sunday afternoon game Sept. 27, according to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post.

Daboll, of course, was the Giants head coach for three-plus seasons, going 20-40-1 over 61 games before he was relieved of his duties Nov. 10. Mike Kafka was named interim head coach and went 2-5 before the Giants let him go and named John Harbaugh head coach earlier this year.

Daboll was named Titans offensive coordinator after they hired former New York Jets coach Robert Saleh as their head coach Jan. 22.

The Titans game is the second reported game of the 2026 season, since they will host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 on Sunday Night Football. The Giants’ full schedule will be officially revealed Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN and NFL Network.

The Giants Will Host the Titans in Week 3

Aside from their home and road games against their NFC East rivals, the Giants were always slated to play the AFC South and NFC West in 2026. They were assigned a home game against the Titans years ago as part of the NFL’s ongoing schedule rotation.

But this year’s Week 3 game will carry extra intrigue for Giants fans and not just because it’ll mark Daboll’s return to the Meadowlands.

Led by Daboll, the Titans plundered the Giants roster in free agency, signing slot receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, tight end Daniel Bellinger and cornerback Cor’Dale Flott to long-term deals. Each player was selected by Daboll, and general manager Joe Schoen, as part of their first draft with the Giants in 2022.

However, according to Dunleavy, their reunion with the Giants won’t even be Daboll and Co.’s first game back at the Meadowlands.

The Titans are slated to open their season on the road against the Jets in Week 1 at MetLife Stadium. That be Saleh’s first game back at the venue he called home for three-plus seasons before he was fired as Jets coach in October 2024 — after Saleh went 20-36.

The Giants Haven’t Played the Titans Since Brian Daboll’s First Game as Giants Coach

This will mark the Giants’ first game against Tennessee since their 2022 opener, which ironically was Daboll’s first game as Giants head coach.

The Giants defeated the Titans 21-20 on Sept. 11, 2022, in a game where Big Blue rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit and clinched victory on a two-point conversion from Daniel Jones to Saquon Barkley with 1:06 to play.

Daboll and the Giants went 9-7-1 that season, and he was named NFL Coach of the Year by guiding them to their first playoff berth since 2016. Daboll also engineered New York’s first playoff win since Super Bowl XLVI, when it defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-24 in the wild-card round.

The Giants lost 38-7 to the rival Philadelphia Eagles the next week in the divisional round. He then went 11-33 over his final 44 games as head coach before the Giants fired him after a 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field last season.
