New York Giants second-year draft pick Theo Johnson is reportedly in attendance at tight end university.

New York Giants second-year draft pick Theo Johnson is training with current and former NFL legends Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen at the popular “Tight End University” football camp this week, according to NorthJersey.com insider Art Stapleton, and he’s not alone.

“Giants tight ends Theo Johnson, Daniel Bellinger, Thomas Fidone and Chris Manhertz are all expected to attend TE University run by Greg Olsen, Travis Kelce and George Kittle in Nashville,” Stapleton reported on June 22.

The tight end exclusive camp was scheduled to begin on June 23, meaning it is already in progress at the time of this article’s publication on June 24.

Theo Johnson, Giants TE Room Getting in Extra Work Ahead of Training Camp & Narrow Roster Battle

It’s always nice to see players trying to better themselves during their off-time, and that’s what Johnson and company are doing this week as they team up with Kelce, Kittle and Olsen.

Of course, the four Giants TEs aren’t alone, as the full Tight End University roster appeared to be bigger than ever in 2025.

Still, it’s a positive development for the G-Men, who desperately need one or two of these tight end prospects to pan out long-term.

Johnson is the prime candidate to take on that responsibility. As a 6-foot-6 pass-catcher with athleticism, the former fourth-round selection out of Penn State probably has the highest ceiling of the four, and some believe he could be primed for a breakout in year two.

Having said that, Fidone should not be overlooked.

The rookie seventh-rounder caught a lot of attention at OTAs this spring. Media members John Schmeelk and Paul Dottino highlighted his long, rangy arms and “fluid” movement as a route-runner.

Although Johnson is expected to be the unquestioned TE1 this year, with Manhertz likely serving as the top blocking tight end, Fidone could be a dark horse to steal some snaps as the season progresses.

As for Bellinger, the fourth-year draft pick’s back appears to be up against the wall in 2025. If the Giants choose to keep four tight ends on the 53-man roster, Bellinger still leads the way as the most likely TE4 candidate over Greg Dulcich and undrafted rookie Jermaine Terry, but head coach Brian Daboll could elect to go with a smaller TE room this year.

It’s hard to see Bellinger making it over Johnson, Fidone or Manhertz, meaning he must convince the Giants that he provides added special teams value as a TE4.

Travis Kelce, George Kittle & Greg Olsen Founded ‘Tight End University’ in 2021

According to their official website, Tight End University was first founded in 2021 by the combined efforts of Kelce, Kittle and Olsen.

“Tight End University was created to bring the Tight End community together for an immersive three-day program,” the site reads. “Over the course of the summit, attendees are able to bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities, including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more.”

“In addition to current players, TEU also features several retired legends who provide attendees with the invaluable opportunity to learn from some of the best to ever play the game,” it continues.

Adding: “Beyond supporting our athletes, TEU is also driven to give back to the community through a variety of charitable initiatives. Thanks to the help of our sponsors, we are able to help raise money for various organizations and at the conclusion of the event donate all proceeds to charities selected by our hosts.”
