The Philadelphia Eagles are making a notable move ahead of the NFL Draft.
According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the Eagles are acquiring wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers.
As part of the deal, Wicks is set to sign a one-year, $12.5 million extension, giving Philadelphia immediate help at a key position while questions continue to swirl around the future of A.J. Brown.
The Eagles are sending the fifth-round pick this year that originally got from the Atlanta Falcons and their second sixth rounder next year.
This is the third wide receiver addition the Eagles have made in recent weeks. They signed Hollywood Brown on March 17, Elijah Moore on March 24 and now traded for Wicks on today.
Wicks Gives Eagles Proven Production With Upside
The Eagles are bringing in a wide receiver who has quietly produced when given opportunities in a crowded Green Bay offense.
A 2023 fifth-round pick out of Virginia, Wicks appeared in 46 games across three seasons with the Packers. He totaled 108 receptions for 1,328 yards and 11 touchdowns. Last season, he posted 30 catches for 332 yards and two scores while continuing to flash strong route-running ability and separation skills.
Despite the modest volume, his efficiency and big-play potential consistently stood out. Additionally, the the Packers ran an offense where targets were spread across multiple young receivers.
With Romeo Doubs no longer in the picture, Green Bay has chosen to lean on younger options like Matthew Golden and Savion Williams.
For Philadelphia, this is a low-risk addition with real upside, especially with a one-year, $12.5 million extension already in place. The Eagles now add a 24-year-old receiver who could carve out a larger role in a more aggressive passing attack and provide immediate depth behind an already talented group.
