Explore the details of the Philadelphia Eagles reserve future signings for 2026 and the players retained for the upcoming season.

The Philadelphia Eagles have already begun reshaping the back end of their roster after their 2025 season came to an end.

Just one day after their wild-card playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Eagles announced a group of reserve/future signings.

Reserve/future contracts are standard across the league. They allow teams to retain players who finished the season on the practice squad or on inactive lists. Those players remain under contract through the spring and report for workouts once the new league year begins.

The Eagles’ list included eight players, all of whom spent time in Philadelphia’s system during the 2025 season.

Quez Watkins

GettyQuez Watkins returns to the Philadelphia Eagles, signing a reserve/future contract for 2026.

Wide receiver Quez Watkins is the most recognizable name out of the group Philly brought back. Drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Southern Miss, Watkins has spent four seasons with the team as a rotational receiver.

Over his initial stint in Philadelphia, Watkins caught 98 passes for 1,249 yards and six touchdowns. He briefly left the organization in 2025 before returning to the practice squad later in the year. The future contract keeps him in familiar territory heading into training camp.

Another receiver brought back was Danny Gray, a third-round pick of the 49ers in 2022. Gray appeared in 13 games as a rookie in San Francisco but was limited to one reception for 10 yards. The Eagles signed him to the practice squad during the season, valuing his speed and special teams potential despite limited offensive production to date.

On the offensive line, the Eagles retained center Jake Majors and tackle Hollin Pierce. Majors went undrafted in 2025 after starting a school-record 56 games at Texas. He spent time with Tampa Bay before joining Philadelphia’s practice squad early in the season. Pierce, a mammoth specimen listed at 6-foot-8, entered the league as an undrafted free agent from Rutgers and spent most of the year developing behind the scenes.

A Look at the Defensive Players the Eagles Re-Signed

The Eagles also brought back defensive tackle Gabe Hall, who first signed as an UDFA out of Baylor back in May of 2024. Hall appeared briefly in two regular season games early on in the 2025 season, but spent most of the year on the practice squad. Philadelphia has taken a patient approach with interior defensive linemen in recent years, and Hall fits that mold.

“Gabe Hall’s another credit to our developmental program,” general manager Howie Roseman said heading into the 2025 season, via the team’s official website. “This is a guy that we followed who if he probably would’ve came out after his junior year (at Baylor), would’ve been first-, second-day pick. We got him as a free agent last year and our guys went to work on him because he’s got tools in his body. This is a big, long athletic defensive tackle.”

The Eagles also brought back linebacker Chance Campbell, who was originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round in 2022. He has appeared in four career games, but hasn’t played in the regular season since 2023. Cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields, a sixth-round pick by San Francisco that same year, has played in 13 NFL games across multiple teams. Both finished the season on Philadelphia’s practice squad, and both are returning when training camp rolls around.

Defensive back Brandon Johnson rounds out the group of signings. An undrafted rookie out of Oregon, Johnson earned late-season opportunities. He was elevated for three games and started the regular season finale, netting two tackles and a pass breakup.
