Former Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer is reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury.

Vaquer was attacked last Monday on WWE Raw by the Judgment Day trio of Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez backstage.

Later in the show, play-by-play commentator Michael Cole announced that Vaquer suffered a second-degree AC joint sprain in her right shoulder. Cole also said that La Primera might be out “for a bit.”

Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer initially reported that Vaquer’s shoulder injury wasn’t a work. Alvarez called it a legitimate injury, though he was unsure if it was a long-term injury or not.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select dropped a clearer update on Thursday. Vaquer could be out for at least six weeks, but there is concern that she could be even out longer depending on the severity of her injury.

However, there is hope that Vaquer might be able to get cleared before SummerSlam in August.

“Regarding Stephanie Vaquer’s status, we’re told she’s expected to be on the shelf for the foreseeable future with no official timetable currently in place,” WrestleVotes said, via Ringside News. “One source noted they’ve heard rumblings of a minimum six-week absence, with the possibility it could extend beyond that. While there’s hope she could recover in time for SummerSlam, there remains some cautions surrounding that time frame.”

WrestleVotes added that WWE has been very careful about injuries and is not forcing their stars to return unless they are 100% healthy. They have a deep roster, especially in the women’s division, so Vaquer’s absence won’t be felt significantly.

What’s Next For Liv Morgan?

Before Vaquer’s injury, it seemed like WWE was moving to a rematch between her and Morgan after WrestleMania 42. Vaquer confronted Morgan on Raw after WrestleMania, signaling her intent to recapture the Women’s World Championship.

But now that Vaquer was written off television due to her injury, what’s next for Morgan and the Judgment Day?

Based on what happened last Monday, Finn Balor is still lingering around his former group. Balor spoke to Roxanne Perez and told her to not trust Morgan, who has been pulling the strings for Judgment Day.

Later on Raw, Perez and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in a tag team match. The win should give them momentum to possibly be the next challengers for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships currently held by Brie Bella and Paige.

As for Morgan, she could be getting a new challenger for the Women’s World Title. Sol Ruca nearly earned an upset win over the champ on Raw after WrestleMania before an interference from Zaria.

WWE’s next Premium Live Event is Backlash. It will be held on May 9 at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.
