Stay tuned to Heavy for all the latest updates from today’s UFC 319: Du Plessis vs. Chimaev card in Chicago!
Tonight’s main event will see middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis look to defend his middleweight title against undefeated contender Khamzat Chimaev. Since winning the title back in 2024, DDP has rattled off back-to-back title defenses, defeating former middleweight kingpin Israel Adesanya and, most recently, Sean Strickland.
Now, he collides with the most dangerous first-round threat he’s ever faced, three-time Swedish National Wrestling champion Khamzat Chimaev, who is fresh off a stunning win over Robert Whittaker back in October.
In the co-main event, streaking contender Lerone Murphy will look to put a stamp on his case for a crack at the title, while on the flip side, famed American grappler Aaron Pico will look to prove that he has what it takes to compete against the best of the best.
Despite the loss of the Battle vs. Ruziboev fight and the TUF 33 welterweight finale bout between Rodrigo Sezinando and Daniil Donchenko, today’s UFC 319: Du Plessis vs. Chimaev card is expected to produce fireworks.

Main card (ESPN+ PPV: 7 p.m. PT, 10 p.m. ET)
(C) Dricus du Plessis vs. Khamzat Chimaev – Middleweight Title
Khamzat Chimaev’s grappling proved to be too much for Dricus du Plessis in the main event of UFC 319.
Chimaev took DDP down moments into the fight, and then proceeded to take the fight to the ground at will round after round, en route to a unanimous decision win.
Result: Khamzat Chimaev defeats Dricus du Plessis via Unanimous Decision
Lerone Murphy vs. Aaron Pico
Aaron Pico skipped the feeling-out process in his UFC debut, pushing the pace throughout the first round with big shots that he used to set up takedowns along the fence.
Much like Carlos Prates in the previous fight, however, Lerone Murphy then landed a spinning elbow in the second half of the first round that put Pico to sleep.
Immediately after the fight, Alexander Volkanovski confirmed that after the win, Murphy is now next in line for a crack at the title, and the two will throw down in December.
Result: Lerone Murphy def. Aaron Pico via KO (First Round)
Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates
Carlos Prates and Geoff Neal both had their moments through the first few minutes of the fight until, out of nowhere, with just moments left to go in the round, Prates landed a spinning elbow that put Neal to sleep.
With the win, Prates now advances to 5-1 in the UFC, and according to Joe Rogan, he’s now going to be fighting on the Rio de Janeiro card in October, and will be leaving Chicago with a performance bonus.
Result: Carlos Prates def. Geoff Neal via KO (First Round)
Jared Cannonier vs. Michael Page
Michael Venom Page found his range early in Saturday’s main card fight with Jared Cannonier, out-striking the former middleweight title challenger through the first two rounds.
While Cannonier was able to use his grappling to control the action throughout the final five minutes, MVP secured the decision, extending his win streak to two.
Result: Michael Page def. Jared Cannonier via Unanimous Decision
Tim Elliott vs. Kai Asakura
Although Kai Asakura came out hot, a takedown late in the first turned things around for Tim Elliott, swinging momentum in his favor.
When the second round started, Asakura seemed to be more hesitant to throw. Once Elliott was able to secure the takedown, he locked up a mounted guillotine, extending his win streak to two.
Result: Tim Elliott def. Kai Asakura via Submission (Second Round)
Prelims (ESPN/ESPN+: 5 p.m. PT, 8 p.m. ET)
Baysangur Susurkaev vs. Eric Nolan
After picking up a big win on Dana White’s Contender Series on Tuesday, Baysangur Susurkaev was able to keep the momentum rolling in the biggest fight of his career, defeating Eric Nolan via submission in the second round.
Nolan came out strong, and had momentum on his side at the end of the first, however, Susurkaev was able to turn things around and extend his unbeaten record.
Result: Baysangur Susurkaev def. Eric Nolan via Submission (Round Two)
Gerald Meerschaert vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk
Michal Oleksiejczuk and Gerald Meerschaert skipped the feeling out process on Saturday night, with Oleksiejczuk picking up a highlight reel knockout win in the first.
With back-to-back first round wins for Oleksiejczuk, his move to Fighting Nerds seems to have paid off!
Result: Michal Oleksiejczuk def. Gerald Meerschaert via KO (First round)
Jessica Andrade vs. Loopy Godinez
Both Jessica Andrade and Loopy Godinez left it all out there on Saturday night, going blow-for-blow over the course of three rounds en route to a decision win for Godinez.
With the win, Godinez has now won back-to-back after a decision win over Julia Polastri back in March.
Result: Loopy Godinez def. Jessica Andrade via Unanimous Decision
Chase Hooper vs. Alexander Hernandez
Alexander Hernandez needed just one round to get things done against Chase Hooper, finishing the standout grappler in the very first round with a beautiful counter-right hand.
Result: Alexander Hernandez def. Chase Hooper via TKO (Round One)
Fight Pass prelims (ESPN+ at 3:30 p.m. PT, 6:30 p.m. ET)
Edson Barboza vs. Drakkar Klose
After being knocked out by Joel Alvaraz back in December, Drakkar Klose was able to get back in the win column with a decision win over UFC vet Edson Barboza.
Klose seemed to edge out the first two rounds of action, securing himself a decision despite many fight fans scoring the third in favor of Barboza.
Result: Drakkar Klose def. Edson Barboza via Unanimous Decision
Karine Silva vs. Dione Barbosa
Just like Karine Silva and Dione Barbosa’s 2019 fight, the pair went the distance on the UFC 319 prelims. Over a hard-fought 15 minutes both women had their moments, however, in the end, it was Silva who edged out the decision despite Barbosa closing as a pretty comfortable betting favorite at the end of the third.
Considering the two are 1-1 in their head-to-head, a trilogy fight could be inevitable given how close today’s bout was.
Result: Karine Silva def. Dione Barbosa via Unanimous Decision
Alibi Idris vs. Joseph Morales
Joseph Morales’ grappling proved to be the difference in tonight’s TUF flyweight finale. After nearly finishing Alibi Idris with a rear naked choke at the end of the first, Morales was able to get a submission win in round two.
