Jarred Vanderbilt : Out for at least two more weeks
Vanderbilt's (foot) ramp-up process has gone slower than anticipated, and he'll be re-evaluated in a "couple weeks" from Wednesday, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. Vanderbilt underwent surgery on his right foot during the offseason, and his recovery has been slower than expected. He's yet to appear in a game this season and will need at least two weeks more before retaking the hardwood.
Bronny James : Doubtful to play Thursday
James (heel) is listed as doubtful for Thursday's game against Orlando. James has not logged NBA minutes since Nov. 10, and he has compiled just 16 total minutes this season. His ultimate availability Thursday will not relevantly affect the Lakers' rotation.
Rui Hachimura : Uncertain to face Magic
Hachimura (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game against Orlando. Hachimura has missed three straight games due to a sprained right ankle and is at risk of missing a fourth straight. If Hachimura can't go, expect Dalton Knecht, Max Christie and Cam Reddish to see an uptick in minutes.
Anthony Davis : Returns to injury report
Davis is listed as probable for Thursday's game against Orlando due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Davis and Rui Hachimura (ankle) represent key members of the Lakers' rotation with injury designations heading into Thursday's contest. That being said, Davis has missed only one game this season and appears firmly on track to suit up Thursday. He averaged 27.0 points, 16.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 5.0 blocks across two contests versus Orlando last season.
LeBron James : Double-doubles with 12 assists
James supplied 26 points (9-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-11 FT), two rebounds and 12 assists across 34 minutes during Tuesday's 124-118 victory over the Jazz. James was visibly impressed with Dalton Knecht's performance, and the rookie was partly responsible for the All-Star's lofty assist total. James and Anthony Davis both scored 26 points, and their ability to record big numbers simultaneously is a big reason why the team is off to a 10-4 start. The duo sometimes suffers with poor results from the supporting cast, but Knecht's three-point barrage allowed them to make plays and keep the defense guessing.
Anthony Davis : Records 26/14 double-double
Davis registered 26 points (10-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-10 FT), 14 rebounds, six assists and two steals across 34 minutes during Tuesday's 124-118 win over the Jazz. Although Davis briefly exited Tuesday's game with what appeared to be a groin injury, he showed no ill effects and logged 34 minutes in the win. Dalton Knecht's record-setting three-point performance dominated the flow of the game, but Davis controlled the paint and won the rebound battle over John Collins.
Dalton Knecht : Ties rookie record for most threes
Knecht recorded 37 points (12-16 FG, 9-12 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds and one steal in 38 minutes during Tuesday's 124-118 win over the Jazz. Knecht continues to benefit from Rui Hachimura's (ankle) absence, as he made his third consecutive start Tuesday. Knecht poured in a career-high 37 points while tying Keyonte George, Yogi Ferrell and Rodrigue Beaubois for the rookie record with nine three-pointers made in a single game. Over his last three outings, the 23-year-old forward is averaging 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals while shooting 63.6 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from three.
Anthony Davis : Available to return
Davis (groin) is available to return during Tuesday's game against the Jazz, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. The superstar collided with John Collins on a screen -- which was later called a Flagrant 1 foul on Collins -- in the third quarter and went back to the locker room. However, Davis is good to go if need be, though with the game nearing its end it wouldn't come as a shock if he remains sidelined.
