Louisville vs. Clemson: Point Spread, Total & Prediction

Clemson takes on Louisville in a battle of ACC heavyweights. According to OddsShark, Louisville is favored by two points on the road.

The over-under is set at 67.5 points. The OddsShark computer projects Louisville to not only win but to cover the spread with a 42.4-36.8 victory. The computer is taking Louisville to cover the spread and the over the point total.

The two teams are right by each other in the top five of the S&P+ statistical rankings. Louisville is ranked 4th while Clemson is 5th.

There’s reason to like Lousiville. They have an elite quarterback in Lamar Jackson who has looked like the best player in the country. He causes nightmares for defenses with his ability to throw the deep ball as well as his threat to run the ball.

Jackson also has great quickness that makes him dangerous when he decides to run with the ball. The Cardinals also have playmakers on defense including Devonte Fields who gets to the quarterback at will.

However, there is a big difference in hosting Florida State in an afternoon ACC game with little expectations to what they will experience tonight. Louisville is on the road in a hostile environment with significantly higher expectations. Clemson, a team who made the national title game last season, is a home underdog.

The Tigers have not looked great to start the season, but Clemson has another gear they can reach. Smart money is on the side of the experienced team playing a primetime game at home. Heavy like Clemson to play their best game of the season and win the game in a close one.

Heavy’s Pick: Clemson 27 Louisville 24. Clemson +2. Under on the Point Total.
