As a result of the monster year, he now has been rewarded handsomely with a lucrative three-year deal.

The return home was the right move for Wilson, who registered career highs in sacks and forced fumbles while posting the best tackling numbers since 2020 with the Vikings (122 tackles (62 solo) across 16 regular-season games). The veteran linebacker enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent and could command a sizable pay day given his strong numbers in 2025.

Wilson (thumb) doesn't have an injury designation ahead of Thursday's game against the Lions. Wilson was a limited participant in Monday and Tuesday's practices, but was able to upgrade to a full participant Friday, just in time to avoid any injury designation for this week's divisional matchup. The starting inside linebacker is all set to suit up for Thursday's game, where the Vikings will try to play spoiler for a Lions team on the brink of postseason elimination.
