As the Los Angeles Lakers prepare to take on the Houston Rockets in the NBA playoffs, LeBron James took time to show his family some love. James took to Instagram, revealing that his daughter, Zhuri, took part in the first serve at the League One Volleyball championship game.
The star also revealed more news with his oldest son, Bronny James.
“Zhuri did the first serve at the LOVB Volleyball 🏐 Championship Game last night!” James noted in an April 17, 2026, Instagram post. “So damn cute and proud of you 👸🏾!! You’re truly AMAZING!!! 🤎🤎🤎🤎🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾✨✨✨.”
James and wife, Savannah James, have three kids with Zhuri being the youngest. The star’s oldest son, Bronny, plays on the Lakers, while Bryce James just finished his freshman college basketball season on Arizona.
Here’s the latest news on James and the Lakers ahead of the NBA playoffs.
LeBron James Rumors: The Warriors & Cavaliers Are Threats to Poach Lakers Star
Questions continue to surround James’ future with the Lakers. James will be a free agent this offseason while retirement is also an option for the NBA legend.
The Athletic’s Sam Amick and Dan Wolke floated the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers as two potential threats to the Lakers for James.
“Around the league, rumors also persist that one last run in Cleveland, or a superstar Steph Curry-James duo in Golden State, are plausible possibilities as well,” Wolke and Amick noted in an April 17, story titled, “LeBron James’ future: Retire, stay with Lakers or join Warriors/Cavs? What we know.” “Per team sources, the Warriors’ interest in James this summer remains serious.
“The Cavs, and the prospect of a goodbye tour where James’ journey began, are also still widely seen by rival executives as a legitimate possibility. But in both cases, the luxury tax poses obstacles that likely mean James would have to make major financial concessions to come their way.”
LeBron James’ Family Could Play a Factor in Star’s Future With the Lakers
If anything, James’ family could only help the Lakers’ chances to re-sign the star. James’ son, Bronny, remains on the team, while his daughter, Zhuri, is just 11 years old.
The Athletic reports that James’ family has not stopped NBA rumors from swirling about a potential change.
“James is teammates with his son Bronny, whose contract runs through next season with a team option for 2027-28,” Wolke and Amick wrote. “He has called the opportunity to play meaningful basketball with his son the “greatest” achievement of his career. His wife, Savannah, and 11-year-old daughter, Zhuri, have lived in Los Angeles since James came from Cleveland in 2018. His youngest son, Bryce, redshirted this past season at Arizona.
“But that hasn’t stopped team and league sources from wondering where he will play his 24th NBA season or if he’ll even play one at all.”
LeBron James Partnered With Movie Director Christopher Nolan Ahead of NBA Playoffs
James also posted a new collaboration with famed director Christopher Nolan. The Lakers legend narrated the new trailer for the film “Odyssey” which also featured a cameo from Bronny.
“No legend worth watching took a straight and simple path,” James remarked in the trailer. “Nah, they chose challenges and changes every step of the way. And him? He’s on a journey all his own (the video cuts to Bronny).
“With obstacles only he can conquer because in the end this was never a myth. It’s a legacy.”
With Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic both sidelined, James will attempt to add to his legacy in the NBA playoffs as the Lakers are massive underdogs against the Rockets.
