Drake Bentley has covered sports professionally since 2019 and is an award-winning investigative reporter with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. His work spans news, politics, crime, trending stories, and community features, and he's reported on events including the NBA Finals, NFL Draft, and Republican National Convention. Previously, he covered sports for the Wisconsin State Journal. Drake brings extensive research and project management experience from his work at Marquette University, along with prior roles in financial institutions and the federal government. He currently serves as an affiliate of the African and African Diaspora Studies Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Education
Drake holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska, where his final project explored soccer’s growth in the U.S. and the media’s role in advancing the sport. He earned his bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, double-majoring in management and political science. While at Whitewater, he wrote for the student newspaper Royal Purple News.
