Former Utah high school teacher Brianne Altice, 35, confessed in court that she had sex with three of her teenage students.
Altice sobbed as she accepted the plea agreement on Wednesday.
She was accused sexually abusing one 16-year-old and two 17-year-old boys while she was an English teacher at Davis High School.
One boy testified that he considered the much older teacher to be his “girlfriend.”
Altice could face 45 years behind bars when she’s sentenced on May 28. Each charge carries a possible sentence of 1 to 15 years in prison.
She pleaded guilty to three counts of forcible sexual abuse in exchange for prosecutors’ dropping 11 other counts, including several first-degree felonies.
The teacher was first arrested in October 2013 after one boy came forward. Two more followed with similar allegations.
In a civil lawsuit filed against the Davis School District, it was claimed that the liaisons were so much an open secret that the running joke among pupils was, “Who is Ms. Altice sleeping with now?”
Prosecutors say she again had sex with one of the victims after her arrest.
