The 2025 NFL season didn’t exactly go as planned for one-time NFL MVP Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, with the talented squad unable to break through in the AFC and reach the Super Bowl as many predicted.
As a result of the Bills falling short in the playoffs, losing to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round, Buffalo has decided to make some drastic changes, starting with replacing head coach Sean McDermott with Joe Brady.
Along with the changes at the top, the team is trying to put together a competitive roster once again, with some questions still to be answered, such as whether bringing back veteran corner Tre’Davious White is an option they’ll explore.

Ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, Bills general manager Brandon Beane was asked about Davis and if the team would consider bringing back the 31-year-old for another stint.
Beane didn’t hesitate to say the team won’t “close the door” on White returning to the team, via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.
“Yeah, I mean, we love Tre’Davious,” Beane said. “I think at this point, you know, we’re waiting through the draft and probably he is as well. You would never close the door on bringing a guy like Tre back here to Buffalo.”
Outside of the 2024 NFL season, where he played for the Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens, White has spent his entire professional career with the Bills. He has been named an All-Pro twice during his time in Buffalo.
During the 2025 campaign, White played in all 16 regular-season games and both playoff games. He recorded an interception, 10 passes defended and 29 solo tackles during the regular season.
Bills May Bring Back WR Brandin Cooks

One area of need that the Bills’ brass has emphasized improving this NFL offseason is the wide receiver position, with the team recently pulling off a trade with the Chicago Bears to acquire veteran wideout DJ Moore.
The team has been in desperate need of a consistent deep threat for Allen and may have found their man in Moore, but they may not be done adding more talent at the position.
According to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, the Bills have been in touch with Brandin Cooks and could explore bringing him back for the 2026 NFL season.
The position remains unsettled. Beane said a couple of weeks ago that a receiver is still in play at No. 26. The Bills traded their second-round pick to the Chicago Bears as part of the deal for wide receiver DJ Moore.
The Bills remain in touch with veteran receiver Brandin Cooks, who spent the end of last season with the team.
Cooks played in five regular-season games and both playoff games for the Bills last season after spending the first 10 games of the 2025 campaign with the New Orleans Saints.
He caught 24 passes for 279 yards during the regular season and hauled in five catches for 78 yards during the playoffs.
