The Natural Grip entered the Shark Tank in Season 6. Back then, we interviewed owner Ashley Drake about her custom hand grips to improve your workouts. As her episode re-airs for Shark Tank Week, we caught up with her once again to see what new developments have occurred since partnering with Robert. Here is what she told us about…
Their Staggering Growth
The Natural Grip has grown by 500 percent since we aired on Shark Tank. Our sales, staff, products, and overall operation has grown and we continue to be innovative as a company to find ways to keep up with the demand for our product and services.
A New Brand
We have also developed a brand new Protection Line of Natural Grips. These service-inspired grips represent all branches of the US Military as well as our police and firefighting service men and women. We have been able to partner up with a wonderful organization, Wounded Wodders, and because The Natural Grip believes in giving back and helping our heroes who have sacrificially given for their country, portions of proceeds from our Protection Line will be donated to Wounded Wodders to assist them in their mission of providing therapeutic recreation to veterans with disabilities.
Robert and his team are involved as much as we need them to be. They provide support and guidance on issues and decisions that we are working through and we are thankful to have them on our side. Having a diverse team available to help guide the company is important and beneficial for our long term success. Earlier this year Robert made it a point to tell me that we needed to have a presence at large scale fitness events as a vendor. I have taken his guidance and we are more successful because of it. Opportunities and increased exposure have come our way that we wouldn’t have had if Robert had not encouraged me to take the company to these events.
Her Advice to ‘Tank’ Contestants
Having the opportunity to be on Shark Tank is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and every contestant should be proud of that accomplishment, but they must know that it is not a golden ticket to success. Having the Shark Tank seal of approval is exciting and energizing, but it also comes with a lot of stress and responsibility. Not only do you want your company to continue to succeed, but your new investor wants their investment to be profitable, and the entire Shark Tank audience is looking for you to deliver 110 percent. It is a 24/7 job to keep a small business on the right path. Shark Tank can give you a boost, but you have to have the drive, determination, and will to keep it all going.
Plans for the Future
The Natural Grip has some exciting things planned for 2016. We are expanding our customization options and bringing new products to market. We are expanding our production shop, adding employees, and continuing to do what we do best – provide no more ripped hands to the fitness community.
