The Twin Towers Before & After September 11th Attacks: Looking Back

Twin Towers Before & After Collapse

We've seen the Twin Towers in movies, on older sitcoms and in our memories. They were a landmark in America, but on September 11, 2001, our nation lost them in one of the deadliest attacks in world history. On 9/11, the North Tower was struck first and was followed by the South Tower approximately 17 minutes later. In total, when it comes to the World Trade Center today, One World Trade Center, 4 World Trade Center and 7 World Trade Center were all replaced. Today, One World Trade Center is known as the Freedom Tower. The Twin Towers originally opened on April 4, 1973.
