When she appeared on Celebrity Apprentice in 2009, reality TV star Khloe Kardashian was the target of crude and insulting remarks on her appearance by Donald Trump, a new report says. Trump called the then-25-year-old Kardashian “a fat piglet” and fired her because of her looks, The Huffington Post reported on Friday.
After a tape from behind the scenes of a 2005 Access Hollywood taping was released last week, in which Trump made crude and shocking boasts that could sexually grope and force himself on women and get away with it because he is “a star,” reports began to circulate that Trump has made “far worse” remarks during the 11 years that his NBC reality series The Apprentice was in production — and that tapes of at least some of those remarks existed.
Former Apprentice producer Bill Pruitt ignited those rumors with a Twitter posting.
Since then, Apprentice creator Mark Burnett and the studio that owns the show, MGM, have come under pressure to release any Apprentice tapes that may contain the “far worse” remarks by Trump — but both have so far refused to do so.
But sources who worked on the show have come forward with stories about Trump’s behavior and remarks, the latest surfacing on Friday, when sources from the show told Huffington Post reporters Jason Cherkis and Sam Stein about Trump’s attacks on the Kardashian sister.
“He basically wanted to just get rid of her,” one is quoted saying. “He called her a ‘piglet.’”
Another confirmed that account.
“He said: ‘Why don’t we fire Khloe? She is a fat piglet. Why did we get the ugly Kardashian?’” the source told HuffPo.
At the same time, Trump bemoaned the fact that the show did not have Khloe’s sister, Kim Kardashian, as a contestant, referring to the older and more famous sister as “the hot one.”
Ultimately, Khloe Kardashian was “fired” from the show by Trump — but according to the sources, Trump’s decision was based largely on his own feelings about her, which were shaped by her appearance.
“When they fired [Khloe], it wasn’t on merit,” a third former Apprentice staff member said. “It was on him not liking her.”
Trump went to his staff looking for an excuse to “fire” Kardashian, the source said, quoting Trump asking, “What’s the reason we can get her off?”
Earlier reports from Apprentice sources have said that Trump referred to one celebrity contestant, deaf actress Marlee Matlin, as “retarded.” And in another instance, Trump disparaged a well-known country singer on the show for what he felt was her imperfect skin, saying she needed “some serious f——ng dermatology.”
While Kardashian had not yet responded to the reports of Trump’s disparaging comments on her appearance as of Friday afternoon, in an interview this past July, Kardashian said she had bad memories of her Apprentice experience — and said she would not be voting for Donald Trump for president.
“I don’t think he would be a good president,” she told Netflix talk show host Chelsea Handler, adding that her mother forced her to appear on Celebrity Apprentice.
“I hated every minute of it,” Kardashian recalled of her time on the show. “I’m put in these situations I would never be in in real life. I went to homeschool. I don’t know how to do a f——ng PowerPoint. Stressing myself out, and then dealing with him and about to be fired? I’m like, ‘F—k you, I don’t want to do this.’”
