DJ Jinx Paul, a popular radio personality on Mega 97.9, has died tragically in New York.
How did Paul die?
The television station said Guerrero suffered “severe trauma to his body”and died at the hospital; the vehicle – a black sedan – fled. CBS Local said Paul “was trying to cross the street and peeked out in front of a flatbed truck that was double parked on Jamaica Avenue at the time of the crash…He was struck in the center lane.”
DJ Jinx Paul’s real name was Jean Paul Guerrero, said Billboard. “It is a moment of great pain and sadness for Mega 97.9 FM and the radio fans due to the sudden and unexpected death of our companion and friend, DJ Jinx Paul, who will always be remembered,” Billboard quoted Eric Garcia, CRO of the radio division and GM of SBS New York, as saying. “On behalf of the SBS family New York, we send our heartfelt condolences to his wife to his child, brothers and relatives.”
The New York Daily News said police believe the car was a Nissan Maxima driven by a female in her 20s or 30s. The crash occurred around 4 a.m., said the newspaper.

The Daily News added that DJ Jinx Paul was killed “crossing Jamaica Ave. at Sheffield Ave. in Highland Park.” The Daily News said Guerrero had a 6-year-old son.
DJ Jinx Paul was a DJ at a Spanish-language radio station.
A GoFundMe site to help his family said, “Those that had the pleasure to know him or of him know how full of life Paul was and how he always had a smile. ‘El Show Completo’ Jinx Paul was heard by countless people everyday on NY’s La Mega 97.9FM doing what he loved most and in numerous clubs throughout the country.”
