Tiffany Ariana Trump is the youngest daughter of President Donald Trump. Although she is the only one of President Trump’s adult children that wasn’t part of his transition team, she played a role in his campaign and even spoke at the 2016 Republican National Convention.
Named after the high-end jewelry store, Tiffany & Co., the 24-year-old was born at St Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was raised in California by her mother, Marla Maples, after her parents split in 1999.
“[My mom] moved us out of New York to get out of the spotlight and let me grow up and find my own identity versus being in the shadow of a name or growing up very young with all that pressure. So, she wanted me to have a chance to have a normal childhood. As normal as possible. I think that she did well in that,” Tiffany told People Magazine back in 2016.
Here is what you need to know:
1. She’s a ‘Rich Kid of Instagram’ & Has Nearly 1 Million Followers
Tiffany Trump is popular on social media and has nearly one million followers on Instagram. To compare those numbers to her half-siblings, Ivanka Trump has four million followers, Donald Trump Jr. has one million, and Eric Trump has 695,000.
Tiffany is part of an elite group called “Rich Kids of Instagram.” The group was founded by Andrew Warren, the grandson of fashion designer David Warren. Although the squad changes from time to time, Tiffany has been among some of the richest, most enviable kids on the app.
“The photos they share on social media tell the story of an enviable set of lives intertwined, sipping rosé in infinity pools by day, sipping rosé on balconies overlooking the Marais by night — a picture-perfect posse of wealthy progeny,” reports Business Insider.
Tiffany is pals with Peter and Harry Brant (sons of Peter Brant and Stephanie Seymour); Kyra Kennedy (Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s daughter), and EJ Johnson (Magic Johnson’s son, known for Rich Kids of Beverly Hills).
After Donald Trump became president, Vanity Fair published an article that detailed the Rich Kids of Instagram’s plan to take over the White House. So far, however, that hasn’t happened.
Tiffany recently posted a picture of herself wearing a nude-hued dress that received tons of attention online. The picture has received over 45,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
2. She Is Dating Ross Mechanic
Tiffany Trump has been dating Ross Mechanic since 2015. Mechanic’s parents are attorney Jonathan Mechanic and Wendy Sue Levine. The two met while in college, both attending the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied computer science. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the university this year.
In July, Ross Mechanic landed a job as a data engineer at CADRE, according to his LinkedIn profile. In 2016, he spent three months completing an internship with the company, which specializes in investment management.
“Our incredible team collectively brings decades of experience from leading investment and technology firms. We partner with top quality operators who have the operational and local market expertise relevant to each transaction. We rely on our extensive network of industry relationships, as well as our reputation as a preferred capital partner, to continually pursue a steady flow of differentiated opportunities,” reads Cadre’s LinkedIn profile.
According to the Daily Mail, Mechanic is a registered Democrat in the state of New York. At one point, he “liked” Hillary Clinton on Facebook. It does seem, however, that he has “unliked” the former presidential candidate since.
3. She Is Attending Law School at Georgetown
Tiffany has always done well in school, and getting a good education has been a priority in her life. In talking with People Magazine last year, Tiffany recalled talks with her dad in which he’d always say, “Do good in school, Tiff.” And that’s exactly what she did.
After high school, Tiffany went to college, graduating from the University of Pennsylvania last year. She is currently enrolled in law school at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. As for what Tiffany wants to do with her life after grad school, she has some ideas — but hadn’t exactly figured it out by mid-2016.
“I’m really interested in fashion and technology and kind of just want to be at a place that’s innovative and new, where I can actually implement change and have a voice. We’ll see what I find,” she told People Magazine.
Aside from keeping up her grades, Tiffany has plenty of other things on her resume. In 2011, she interned at Vogue Magazine. According to Town and Country, there is a rumor going around that Tiffany enjoyed a lunch with Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. Beyond that, Tiffany has always had a soft spot for music. When she was just 17 years old, she released her first and only single, “Like a Bird.”
“I love music, it’s always been a big passion for me. It’s more of a hobby right now, but we’ll see in a couple of years if I actually do want to take it to the next level, to a professional level. But right now my priority is focusing on school and getting into a good college,” Tiffany previously told Oprah Winfrey on an episode of Where Are They Now?
You can listen to “Like a Bird” below.
4. She Spoke at the Republican National Convention
Although Tiffany Trump wasn’t front and center on the campaign trail when her father was running for president, she did take part in the Republican National Convention. On Day 2 of the RNC, Tiffany took the stage to address the crowd, using the opportunity to talk about the relationship that she has with her dad.
“Thank you all so much. It’s so amazing to be with you all tonight and say a few words about my father and your nominee for president. Please excuse me if I’m a little nervous. When I graduated college a couple of months ago, I never expected to be here tonight addressing the nation. I’ve given a few speeches in front of classrooms and students, but never in an arena with more than 10 million people watching,” Tiffany opened.
After an applause, she continued.
“But like my father, I never back down from challenges, so here I am, a little new to the convention scene, but incredibly honored and very confident in the good man America is coming to know.” You can read her full speech here.
5. Her Mother Is President Trump’s Second Wife, Marla Maples
Donald Trump married Marla Maples in 1993 and the couple welcomed Tiffany Trump that same year. Shortly after Tiffany was born, the family moved to California. However, Donald and Marla’s marriage didn’t last and the two divorced in 1999. Trump moved to New York and Maples stayed on the west coast, where she raised her daughter.
These days, Tiffany and her mom are the best of friends.
“My mom and I have always been very close since she did raise me as a single mom… Everyone I know is like, ‘Wow you guys have a really good relationship!’ She’s with me a lot of the time,” Tiffany told Oprah Winfrey on an episode of Where Are They Now?
