Stiggers will start at cornerback in Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. With D.J. Reed (groin) and Brandin Echols (shoulder) both inactive for the contest, Stiggers will step in to make his first career start, working at the cornerback spot opposite Sauce Gardner. A rookie fifth-round selection, Stiggers has seen most of his action on special teams thus far in his career, as he's played just 12 snaps on defense through his first 11 appearances with the Jets.
Stiggers (illness) wasn't listed on the Jets' injury report Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports. Stiggers missed the team's Week 14 overtime loss versus the Dolphins due to an illness but is seemingly healthy again. The rookie fifth-round pick should return to his role as a depth corner for Sunday's matchup versus the Jaguars.
Stiggers (illness) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Stiggers appeared on Thursday's injury report due to an illness. He was able to log a full practice Friday, but it appears the illness is serious enough for him to miss his second game of the 2024 regular season. Stiggers' next chance to play will be Week 15 against the Jaguars on Sunday, Dec. 15. With Stiggers out and Sauce Gardner (hamstring) unlikely to play Sunday, D.J. Reed and Brandin Echols are slated to serve as the Jets' starting outside corners.
