The Boston Red Sox are back on the field Monday to kick off their series against the Miami Marlins. Boston is entering this game hot, as they are coming off a three-game sweep over the San Francisco Giants.
While Boston has been having success as of late, they are making some changes to their lineup for their series opener against the Marlins. This most notably includes with Adley Rutschman.
Boston Red Sox Announce Adley Rutschman Change
After not starting in the Red Sox’s most recent game against the Giants, Rutschman will be back in their lineup against the Marlins. This is because the Red Sox’s big trade deadline addition will be back behind the plate and batting fifth for Boston against the Marlins.
Rutschman will be replacing catcher Connor Wong in Boston’s lineup, who will not be playing against Miami on Monday.

Red Sox Need a Bounce-Back Game From Rutschman
Boston will be hoping that Rutschman can put together a strong bounce-back game for them against the Marlins. The three-time All-Star struggled in his most recent start for Boston, as he went 0-for-4 at the plate. He also did not get a hit when he was a pinch hitter for Boston against the Giants on Sunday.
Rutschman has simply been having trouble adjusting with the Red Sox since being acquired from the Baltimore Orioles. In 11 games for Boston so far, he has one home run, four RBI, and a .167 batting average. With that, Boston will be hoping that he can have a big statement game against the Marlins from here.
