The Buffalo Bills are looking toward the future with quarterback Josh Allen.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was left bruised and hurting after last week’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but had a strong statement on his playing status for Saturday’s game against the Denver Broncos.

Allen hurt his hand and leg during the game, while also taking a trip to the sideline medical tent to be evaluated for a concussion. Despite the mounting injuries, Allen shared some optimism about his playing status on Saturday with a trip to the AFC Championship game on the line.

Josh Allen Feeling Better

Speaking to reporters this week, Allen revealed that he was actually starting to feel better after having dealt with some lingering injuries. The Bills quarterback suffered a foot injury in the Week 16 win over the Cleveland Browns and played through pain the following week, before getting a rest in the season finale.

Allen said this week that he feels good heading into Saturday’s divisional-round game.

“I feel good,” Allen said, via the Democrat & Chronicle. “Honestly, I feel better than I have the last few weeks.”

The Bills underlined Allen’s feeling, announcing that he would carry no injury designation into Saturday’s game.

The Bills quarterback earned praise from tight end and longtime friend Dawson Knox, who said his ability to play through injuries is superhuman.

“Call him Superman, like, Wolverine, whatever you want to say,” Knox said. “I’ve seen him take so many crazy hits and bruises and get his knee twisted and hit his finger on a helmet and that would take most guys out, and he’s dealing with multiple of those things and not even missing a play. So, when we say he puts on that cape, it’s got several meanings to it.”

Josh Allen Will Have Shorthanded WR Corps

Allen may have some trouble finding targets against the Broncos after the team was hit by injuries during their wild-card win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Bills watched veteran receiver Gabe Davis and versatile second-year receiver Tyrell Shavers both suffer torn ACLs in last week’s win, with Shavers going on to finish the game on his injury. The pair of losses left the Bills scrambling for help and leading some insiders to suggest they bring back midseason cast-off Elijah Moore.

The Bills opted against bringing back Moore, who will actually face them on Saturday with a trip to the AFC Championship game on the line.

Moore had been on the practice squad of the Broncos, which could have been a target for the Bills had they decided to poach him. The Bills instead brought back Kristian Wilkerson, who spent parts of this season on the practice squad and returned there this week, while the Broncos elevated Moore for Saturday’s game.

The Bills had a less-than-clean split with Moore, who expressed some frustration with his smaller role in Buffalo before his release during the season.

The Bills did get some other additions, with versatile veteran Curtis Samuel returning from injured reserve. They could also look for a bigger role from tight end Dalton Kincaid, who missed stretches due to injury this season but has been a top target for Allen when healthy.
