The Buffalo Bills are ready to go for their upcoming playoff matchup against the Denver Broncos. After taking down the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, the Bills are going to face their toughest challenge yet, as they will have to head out west to Mile High Stadium and defeat the Broncos on their home turf.
While Buffalo is battered with injuries, it has received some reinforcements ahead of this game. The same is true for Denver, though, and with kickoff quickly approaching, the Bills’ opponent made a surprising move involving one of their former wide receivers, Elijah Moore, that will surely catch the attention of the team.
Broncos Elevate Elijah Moore to Active Roster
Over the offseason, the Bills took a flier on Moore in free agency, as they signed him with the hopes he could emerge as a top target for Josh Allen in the passing game. That never ended up happening, as Moore caught just nine passes for 112 yards during his nine contests with Buffalo before he eventually got released.
Shortly after his release, the Broncos scooped up Moore and stashed him on their practice squad. The move seemed pretty straightforward, as Moore has upside that the team could simply have been looking to tap into. With the two teams meeting in the playoffs, though, Moore suddenly has valuable insight that could help Denver take down Buffalo.
Moore made it clear earlier this week that he has been giving the Broncos all the information they have asked him about regarding the Bills. And while that certainly helped Denver during its practices, Moore may get a shot to help out in the game, as he was elevated to the team’s active roster on Friday afternoon.
“The Broncos have elevated WR Elijah Moore from their practice squad to the active roster ahead of Saturday’s game vs. the Bills. Moore started the season… on the Bills,” Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team shared in a post on X.
Bills Hoping Elijah Moore Doesn’t Hurt Them in Broncos Matchup

Buffalo had good reason to move on from Moore earlier this season, as it was done to open up a roster spot for Brandin Cooks. But now, that move could prove costly for the team. Not only has Moore been feeding the Broncos inside information, but if he ends up making his debut for Denver on Saturday afternoon, you can bet that he’s going to want to stick it to his former team by putting together a big outing.
Considering how Denver is fully healthy at wide receiver, it remains to be seen how much Moore will actually be utilized (heck, he could still end up being a healthy scratch for this game). But should he end up being on the field, this is another detail that Buffalo is going to have to account for as it attempts to advance to the AFC Championship Game. Kickoff for this big-time matchup is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
