Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Spencer Brown has been added to the week four injury report according to Bills head coach Sean McDermott. Brown is reportedly dealing with a calf injury and was a DNP for Wednesday’s practice

McDermott also announced that two other players were inactive for Wednesday’s practice, Matt Milano and Ed Oliver. Brown played all of the teams first three games, while Milano missed week three and Oliver missed weeks two and three.

“All are improving and heading in the right direction, it’s just a matter of taking it one day at a time and we’ll see where it goes this week,” McDermott said at his midweek press conference.

According to McDermott, Brown’s calf injury occurred during the Bills 31-21 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, Sept. 18.

Brown has been a staple on Buffalo’s offensive line since he entered the league in 2021. He has started 59 of his 62 NFL games. Brown was the Bills third round draft pick out of Northern Iowa back in 2021.

If the calf injury forces Brown to miss time, rookie Chase Lundt is behind him on the depth chart at right tackle and could see game time this weekend.

Bills Offensive Line Standing Strong For Josh Allen

Buffalo’s offensive line has done a remarkable job of protecting the Bills most valuable asset in Josh Allen through three weeks. Allen has been sacked just four times, the fourth fewest of any quarterback who has started each of their teams games so far.

Allen is obviously known as a dual-threat quarterback, so having that strong offensive line that can adapt when Allen moves around the pocket is such a valuable asset for the Bills to have.

Buffalo guard David Edwards was especially exceptional in the Bills week three win, and was named Pro Football Focus’ offensive player of the week. Here’s what PFF had to say about his performance:

“It’s rare for an offensive lineman to take home recognition like this, but a 95.4 overall grade makes it well deserved. Edwards allowed just one pressure on 34 pass-blocking snaps and posted an elite 93.8 PFF run-blocking grade in Buffalo’s win over the Dolphins.

Buffalo Heavily Favored In Week Four Matchup With New Orleans

The Buffalo Bills opened up this week as 15.5 point favorites against the drowning New Orleans Saints. That two touchdown line is the biggest in week four by a significant margin, with the next closest line sitting at 10 points for the Lions as they take on the Cleveland Browns.

As astronomical of a betting line as that is for an NFL game, it feels fair for both the Bills and the Saints. Buffalo has scored the fourth-most points in the NFL through three weeks with 103, while the Saints have the fourth-fewest at 47.

The Saints‘ Spencer Rattler-led offense has shown signs of life, but those signs have come few and far between. Rattler has been better than expected (a low bar to clear) but the offense as a whole has failed mightily in the red zone. Their defense wasn’t bad in weeks one and two but it allowed a 44-point massacre in week three to the Seahawks, and with all due respect to Seattle, the Bills offense makes them look like a high school team.

Meanwhile, the Bills defense has rebounded nicely after a disappointing first week against the Ravens, with two strong games against the Jets and Dolphins who both have more dynamic offenses than New Orleans.
