The Dallas Cowboys are dealing with multiple injuries.

As the Dallas Cowboys prepared to battle the Chicago Bears in Week 3, all eyes were on Trevon Diggs’ status ahead of the matchup. Diggs was a late addition to the injury report as the star corner is dealing with a knee injury.

ESPN’s Todd Archer reported that Diggs will play against Chicago in Week 3. New addition Jadeveon Clowney was expected to make his Cowboys debut as well but was a surprise inactive. Diggs completed an extensive pregame workout before being cleared to suit up against the Bears.

Trevon Diggs will play after going through a 25-minute workout before pregame warmups, according to multiple sources,” Archer detailed in a September 21, 2025 message on X. “He was added to injury report on Saturday with a right knee injury and had been listed as questionable.”

Diggs is on a five-year, $97 million contract with the Cowboys as one of the team’s key players. Here’s what you need to know about the latest Cowboys news.

Cowboys Face Micah Parsons & Packers in Week 4

Soon, the Cowboys will be preparing for a familiar face as the team squares off against Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers in Week 4. After the Packers‘ Week 2 victory over the Washington Commanders, Parsons briefly looked ahead to facing his former team.

“Obviously, you know, my family and everyone’s looking forward to it,” Parsons noted during a September 11, interview with Amazon’s “TNF Nightcap,” per CBS Sports. “But you know, I’m just going to let my actions talk. It’s just gonna be funny, because all my friends are there.

“… So just going against those guys, it’s going to be heartbreaking, but, damn, I’m excited for the matchup.”

Cowboys DC Matt Eberflus on Facing Caleb Williams & Bears: ‘Keeping the Process & Preparation the Same’

Just one season ago, Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus was the Bears head coach. The Cowboys assistant spoke in generalities when asked about preparing to face Caleb Williams and his former team.

“We’re keeping the process and our preparation the same as we always do,” Eberflus said of facing the Bears, per The Athletic’s Dan Wiederer. “I’m always grateful and have much gratitude for my whole coaching career.

“So I always look back at everything as ‘How you can learn. How you can grow and get better and improve.’”

Jadeveon Clowney Was a Surprise Inactive vs. Bears in Week 3

Fans will have to wait for Clowney’s debut with the Cowboys. Heading into the Week 3 matchup, Clowney noted that he planned to play against the Bears.

Yet, Clowney was a surprise inactive against the Bears. Running back Jaydon Blue and cornerback DaRon Bland joined Clowney among the notable inactives.

The Cowboys Eventually Plan to Utilize Jadeveon Clowney Exclusively as a Pass Rusher

The Cowboys entered the Week 3 contest as a 1.5-road favorite versus the Bears, per DraftKings. Clowney is looking forward to focusing on rushing the passer rather than dropping in coverage as the star did with the Carolina Panthers.

“I go forward,” Clowney explained to DallasCowboys.com during a September 15, interview. “Last year, I did a lot of dropping, and that’s not my strong suit — covering.

“I mean, of course not. When you’re big, you go forward. When I came here, [defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus] said, ‘You probably won’t drop [any].’ I was like, “Oh, my God, I’m looking forward to that.’ I get to go forward a lot more than I did last year, so I’m looking forward to just rushing the passer.”

Clowney could finally make his Dallas debut as the Cowboys take on Parsons and the Packers in Week 4.
