The Denver Broncos’ blockbuster move for Jaylen Waddle has now taken its final step.
After the trade was first reported and widely discussed across the league Tuesday, the Broncos officially announced the deal Wednesday after Waddle passed his physical, putting the move fully in place.
The trade is now official.
The team also released a formal statement confirming the details, adding another layer to one of the most aggressive decisions of the offseason.
According to Adam Schefter, Denver officially sent a 2026 first-round pick (No. 30 overall), a third-round pick (No. 94), and a fourth-round pick (No. 130) to the Miami Dolphins. In return, the Broncos acquired Waddle along with a 2026 fourth-round pick (No. 111).
While the core framework of the trade was already known, the official announcement solidifies just how significant of an investment Denver made to upgrade its offense.
Broncos Double Down on Aggressive Offensive Vision
Acquiring Waddle is a win-now decision aimed at accelerating the development of quarterback Bo Nix and elevating an offense that already showed signs of growth last season.
Waddle brings immediate production and consistency to the lineup. The former first-round pick has recorded at least 744 receiving yards in each of his five NFL seasons and has three 1,000-yard campaigns on his resume. His ability to stretch the field and create explosive plays adds a new dimension to Denver’s offense.
He now joins a wide receiver group that includes Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., and Troy Franklin, and Pat Bryant, giving the Broncos one of their most dynamic receiving corps in recent years.
