The Jacksonville Jaguars finished the 2025 season with a 13-4 record. They are headed to the playoffs as one of the most surprising success stories in the NFL.

On Saturday, the Associated Press released its All-Pro team selections. Two Jaguars made the cut. Linebacker Devin Lloyd was named Second-Team All-Pro, while long snapper Ross Matiscik earned First-Team honors.

For a franchise that has spent years rebuilding, the All-Pro recognition is another sign that Jacksonville has turned the corner. Both players represent exactly what the Jaguars’ turnaround has been about—development, resilience, and elite performance when it matters most.

Devin Lloyd’s Resurgence Has Been One of the NFL’s Best Stories

Lloyd’s All-Pro selection is one of the most well-deserved honors of the entire season.

The former first-round pick entered training camp having to fight for his role on the defense. There were real questions about whether he would even be a starter. But under defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile, Lloyd has become not just a starter, but one of the best linebackers in football.

Lloyd did everything for the Jaguars’ defense this season. He totaled 25 quarterback pressures as a blitzer. He ranked as one of the most effective pass-rushing linebackers in the league. He ranked 11th among all linebackers in run defense grade, showing massive improvement in an area where he had previously struggled. In coverage, he recorded five interceptions and two pass breakups. He made game-changing plays in crucial wins over the Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, and San Francisco 49ers.

Lloyd had a legitimate case for First-Team All-Pro, but Second-Team recognition is still a massive accomplishment. More importantly, it is validation of the work he has put in to become one of the best linebackers in football.

Ross Matiscik Continues His Dominance as the NFL’s Best Long Snapper

Matiscik earning First-Team All-Pro honors marks the third consecutive season he has been named an All-Pro.

That is not a fluke. That is sustained excellence.

Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2020, Matiscik has become the gold standard at his position. He played 140 special teams snaps in 2025 and recorded four tackles. That ranked third among all long snappers in the NFL. Since 2020, his 22 tackles are the most among long snappers in the league.

But Matiscik’s impact goes beyond tackles. He is a steady presence for kicker Cam Little and punter Logan Cooke, two players who have been dominant this season. Little set multiple NFL records for distance on field goals. Cooke has been one of the most consistent punters in football. None of that happens without a reliable long snapper, and Matiscik has been exactly that.

A former linebacker who transitioned to long snapper, Matiscik is the rare player at the position who can also be an enforcer and playmaker on coverage teams. In addition to three All-Pro selections, he has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons.

At this point, it is fair to ask: Is Matiscik the best long snapper of his era?

The résumé is starting to make a strong case.

Why the Jaguars Deserved More All-Pro Recognition

Two All-Pro selections is a solid number. But it feels light given how dominant the Jaguars were this season.

Several other Jacksonville players received All-Pro votes. Parker Washington earned votes as a return specialist. Cam Little received votes as a kicker. Antonio Johnson earned votes at safety. Foye Oluokun received votes at linebacker. Josh Hines-Allen earned votes at edge rusher.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne Jr. also had strong cases for All-Pro consideration. Their production and impact on Jacksonville’s 13-4 season were undeniable.

Still, the fact that the Jaguars landed two All-Pro players is progress. There have been plenty of seasons where Jacksonville had zero All-Pros despite having deserving players. The recognition for Lloyd and Matiscik is a step in the right direction.

If the Jaguars continue to ascend in 2026 and build on this season’s success, the All-Pro recognition should only increase. This is just the start.

Final Word for the Jaguars

Devin Lloyd and Ross Matiscik earning All-Pro honors is well-deserved.

Lloyd’s resurgence is one of the best stories of the season. He went from a player fighting for a roster spot to one of the best linebackers in football. Matiscik’s third consecutive All-Pro selection cements his status as the best long snapper in the NFL.

Both represent what the Jaguars have built—development, resilience, and elite performance when it matters most.

The All-Pro selections are validation. But the real prize is still ahead. Jacksonville is in the playoffs. If Lloyd and Matiscik continue to perform at this level, the Jaguars have a real chance to make noise in January.
