The NFC Championship Game was emotional for the Los Angeles Rams, but offered validation for the Seattle Seahawks and, specifically, wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Multiple Rams players sought Kupp out after the game.

Kupp expressed himself in a couple of social media posts after the contest, in which he had four receptions for 36 yards and 1 touchdown.

It was clear that the moment meant a lot to him.

Kupp and the Seahawks took down the Rams for the third time this season, and the second time in Seattle, with this victory. The stakes were obviously the highest in this meeting than in either of the first two.

The Seahawks are back in the Super Bowl for the third time in franchise history, and the first time since their loss to the New England Patriots in the 2015 Super Bowl.

“IT WAS WRITTEN,” Kupp posted on X on January 25.

Kupp also shared a reel of images set to music, featuring a cover photo that bore the Seahawks’ mantra of “M.O.B. Ties” (Mission Over B*******), and another post proclaiming that “It was a good day!”

Kupp began his career with the Rams as a third-round pick, selected 69th overall in the 2017 draft.

He won the triple crown, leading the NFL in receptions, yards, and touchdowns in 2021.

Kupp also won Offensive Player of the Year and helped LA win a Super Bowl that same season. That all came to an end this past offseason, when the Rams, after failing to find a trade partner, cut ties with Kupp and replaced him with Davante Adams.

Kupp did not take the decision lightly, as he announced the Rams’ plans and, potentially, altered his trade market in doing so.

That does not change what Kupp and the Rams were able to accomplish together.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford drew attention from the NFL over his postgame efforts to find Kupp on the field after the Seahawks advanced. The two finally met up and exchanged a few words.

Stafford kept what was said “private,” but microphones caught his Super Bowl well-wish.

“Quit making me f****** look for you for so long,” Stafford told Kupp after finding him. “Go win your godd*** Super Bowl, kid. You played great. Good s***, brother.”

Kupp told Stafford he loved him and that he was “unbelievable.”

“I was just trying to find him,” Stafford told reporters on January 25. “Just trying to find him, tell him good luck.”

Like Stafford, wide receiver Puka Nacua did not divulge the content of his personal conversation with Kupp. However, he was quick to laud his former teammate, whom he called his “mentor” and “a friend to me.”

“I wanted to see him and be able to congratulate him on the game that he had, and then also, congratulate him on the opportunity to go out there and play for another Super Bowl,” Nacua told reporters postgame. “I understand how much hard work and sacrifice goes into a season, and I can only imagine how it’s been for him. So, I love that dude. I’m super proud of him. Can’t wait to watch him.”

It would be bittersweet for the Rams to see Kupp win another Super Bowl with a division rival.
