The Miami Dolphins added a former first-round pick to the practice squad roster as a depth option behind an unproven group of receivers.
Wide receiver Jalen Reagor did not make the 53-man roster but will remain with the Dolphins on the practice squad, the team announced. The veteran wideout most recently appeared with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Reagor was among several notable players added to the practice squad, including running back Jarquez Hunter and rookie quarterback Mark Gronowski. The team originally acquired Hunter in a trade that sent receiver Tutu Atwell to the Los Angeles Rams. He’ll remain in the organization as a depth piece.
Miami Dolphins Roster Update: Wide Receiver Jalen Reagor Signed to the Practice Squad
The Philadelphia Eagles took Reagor with the 21st overall pick in the 2020 draft. The TCU star recorded 31 receptions on 54 targets as a rookie that year. He appeared in all 17 games with the Eagles in 2021. Reagor notched a career-high 33 receptions and a pair of touchdowns in his sophomore season.
The Eagles traded Reagor to the Minnesota Vikings after two seasons with the team. Philadelphia received a 2023 seventh-round pick and a 2024 conditional fifth-round pick in the deal. Reager was a regular in the lineup for Minnesota, but it didn’t lead to much production. He managed just 8 catches in 17 games. The Vikings moved on from him at the end of the season.
Reagor latched on with the New England Patriots the following season. He was sparsely used on offense, but did deliver a thrilling 98-yard kick return touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 17.
The Los Angeles Chargers added Reagor in 2024. He caught seven of 12 targets while appearing in eight games with the team. Reagor spent the majority of last season on the practice squad with the Chargers.
Reagor Provides Veteran Presence Behind Young Group of Receivers
Miami released longtime wide receiver Tyreek Hill earlier this year. The team traded No. 2 wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos for a 2026 first-round pick, a third-round pick, and a fourth-round pick. The Dolphins received a fourth-round pick in the swap.
The losses of Hill and Waddle leave second-year player Malik Washington as the top receiver for new quarterback Malik Willis. Rookies Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell are expected to have big roles in the passing game. Miami also added former Dallas Cowboys wideout Jalen Tolbert on a one-year deal. Tolbert and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Ryan Miller are the only players with more than two years of experience among the position group.
Reagor hasn’t made good on his draft pedigree, but he keeps getting looks at the NFL level. He could serve as a veteran presence in Miami if some of the younger options don’t pan out.
