Vikings Could Sign Explosive Offensive Playmaker

The Minnesota Vikings could have a need for a third wide receiver in 2026.

Jalen Nailor is likely to test free agency, as he’s played himself into a decent-sized contract. Minnesota may not want to direct that stream of cash towards him, but instead, another receiver.

It’s also still not clear if the Vikings will hang on to Jordan Addison this offseason. The Vikings have a decision to make regarding his fifth-year option before May 1st. If they decided not to re-up, then you might as well trade him now while his value is still decently high.

Another “meh” season from Addison, even if it isn’t his fault, could drop his value a bit, coupled with getting another year older.

Regardless, the Vikings should be eyeing the receiver market. And a name has already been thrown out.

Vikings Brought Up in Rashid Shaheed Talks

The Seahawks landed Shaheed in a trade from the New Orleans Saints for 2026 fourth and fifth round draft picks. The Seahawks have arguably gotten their worth out of the deal already. Shaheed is a speedy downfield-threat, perfect for opening up the offense.

Shaheed also had a 95-yard opening kickoff return touchdown against the 49ers in the Divisional Round.

Dustin Baker of VikingsTerritory had some of the coverage on the Shaheed-to-Minnesota logic.

“After landing with Seattle via trade a few months ago, Shaheed is scheduled to hit the open market five weeks after the Super Bowl.

Examining his free agency, (CBS Sports’) Pereles wrote, “Seattle traded multiple picks at the trade deadline to acquire Shaheed, and while he hasn’t had as big a role as expected on offense, he has been terrific as a returner with three return touchdowns (including playoffs). Other suitors: Rams, Giants, Vikings.”

The Vikings don’t have much salary cap space as of late January, but no fan would be too upset about a Shaheed signing.”

Shaheed could bring a great element to the Vikings offense. However, it feels unlikely that Seattle would be willing to just let him walk if it came down to it.

Jordan Addison Cleared of Charges from January Arrest

Jordan Addison was able to breathe a sigh of relief after receiving an update on his January arrest.

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert tweeted when the news hit.

A misdemeanor trespassing charge against Vikings WR Jordan Addison has been dismissed by Florida state attorney Susan Lopez, according to Hillsborough County court records. The prosecution has been terminated and Addisons’ $500 bond has been ordered to be returned.”

A Notice of Termination of Prosecution has been released for the incident involving Mr. Addison. You can view that here.

There has been further reporting on Addison’s case. This one comes from Mike Garafolo.

Charges will not be filed against #Vikings WR Jordan Addison, according to his agent @YoungerAssoc. Addison was assisted by attorney Brian Pakett. Younger tells me Addison now will prepare for the filing of a civil claim arising from the alleged wrongful arrest.”

This is better news than bad for Jordan Addison and his camp. They are going into year 4 with the Vikings, meaning they are right about at the time that most teams make a decision on a fifth-year option for players that they drafted.
